Colvin's Corvette by the Numbers and Mike Antonick's Corvette Black Book. condition Exterior The exterior is in decent driver condition and looks in person just as it does in the photos. Both doors open and shut easily and operate well. The factory PO2 Deluxe Wheel Covers give the car a great and unique look and the tires are almost brand new with about 95% left. We have been very objective and comprehensive with the dozens of photos of the outside of the car. We have not tried to exclude any imperfections. most sellers and certainly most dealers would not be so upfront and comprehensive with trying to show the flaws. Around the car there is some checking. cracking. and other imperfections. There are specific photos of some blemishes below. but others were too faint to show in pictures. We have even included many photos of the underside of the car. The frame looks solid and there is no visible rust around the "key hole. " Interior The Saddle interior of the Corvette is in good condition overall and is especially nice for being so original. The seats are in good shape and look just in person as the do in the photos with a wear spot in the typical area on the driver's side where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these are the original seats not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The carpet looks great. almost new. and appears as if it was probably replaced very recently. This includes the rear carpet. which is often neglected. The dash and center console look good with no splits. sun fading. or cracks. The original radio is still with the car. but does not work. most importantly the original dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The spare is still with the car as is the original jack and jack handle. which are stowed correctly in the compartment behind the passenger seat. There is no aroma of cigarette smoke in the car. Corvette interiors are not known to wear well and the nice condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care this car has received throughout its life. Mechanical This Corvette seems to be in good mechanical condition; the was the car runs and drives are some of its strongest points. It starts right away every time. runs well. and idles well. The car is an excellent driver that feels nice the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph. shifting through all the gears. braking to stoplight. and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts well. there are no strange vibrations. the brakes do not pull. and the car performs quite well overall. The transmission shifts smoothly. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast. There are some items on the car that do not work such as the horn and clock. All of the other gauges. speedo. tach. odometer. temp gauge. oil pressure. battery gauge. and fuel gauge all work properly. The lights. horn. indicators. key buzzer. wipers. rear window defroster. and even the map light on the rear view mirror all work. The blower motor for the heater and a/c will work. but not on all speeds. The a/c systems is complete with the compressor. condenser. all lines. and there is a belt on the compressor. but it does not blow cold so the system most likely needs to be recharged. The headlights pop up and vacuum system for the lights works correctly from both the switch on the dash and override switch; their operation from both switches can be viewed in the video. The true dual exhaust system with chambered mufflers has a very healthy and aggressive tone. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car. especially with T-Tops out on a beautiful day. Overall Condition Overall. this 1973 Corvette is in great driver condition. Numbers matching is very important in Corvette pricing and as one can see this car is very correct. It is a great value and we have it priced to sell. The value of third generation Corvettes has increased dramatically in recent times. this is especially true for the 1973 model year. They are solid and wise investments for a collector. 1973 was a very special and one year only body style for Corvette that is always recognizable with the newer front end treatment and the classic chrome bumpers on the back. While this is not an NCRS Top Flight or Bloomington Gold car. it is a very nice driver quality Corvette and a great car for the money. There are photos below of the VIN stamp on the engine block. suffix code. engine assembly date. transmission VIN stamp. transmission date. and transmission codes. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
