The 50’s beauty of black paint and gleaming chrome. “The Hot One is Even Hotter” was the motto that Chevrolet boasted for its 150. 210 and Bel Air series in 1956. With a new Super Turbo Fire V8. the new 1956 promised a friskier. sweeter ride with safer passing. Playing off the success of the previous year redesign. the new 1956 Chevy was met with an appetite of frenzy from the buying public. Minor changes were made to the 1956. including new engine options. a slightly different dash. a newly hidden gas filler cap in the rear fin. and colors. trim and fabrics. The ’56 Chevy was a hit as sales continued to climb. CONDITIONS:Body and paint: are in very good to excellent condition. The paint is mostly original from the doors back. The front fenders and hood have been repainted. The front fenders were stripped to bare metal and are in perfect (no rust or rust repair)condition. Top: soft top (replacement) in good to very good condition. The plastic rear window is clear with some yellowing. Chrome and bright work: a number of optional chrome/bright work pieces (see photos) in very good to excellent condition. Rare driver’s remote outside mirror. Interesting option of the prism style traffic light detector on driver’s side dash. Continental spare tire option. Glass: Very good condition ( slight windshield wiper scuff on windshield)Weather stripping/rubber: Very good condition. Wheels/tires: Very good condition. Bias ply white wall tires (5). iuWheel wells/undercarriage: good overall condition. frame very good condition. floors are solid and in good condition with little to no rust. New rear leaf springs. Engine/engine bay: very nicely detailed/correct in very good to excellent condition. The car runs and drives very well with no needs. Trunk: very nicely detailed. the floor is in good condition with two small areas of rust. Interior: considering the interior is mostly original/non restored. the over all look is very nice with light patina. The carpeting is newer. replacement. The front seat has three small spots of wear (driver area). The rear seat is very nice with no wear. The side panels/door panels are in very nice condition. The dash/gauges/steering wheel/correct radio are in very good condition. The miles shown on the odometer do not represent the mileage on the car. The column shift has been moved to the floor (I have the parts needed to replace it back to the column). Books: owner’s booklet and shop book.
