1980 Chevrolet Malibu Classic Wagon showing 34,000 miles. I am very confident this mileage is correct as this was my Grandmother's car bought new when she was in her 80's. She drove it sparingly and upon her death, my father acquired the car. He had more than 25 antique cars at the time, and this Malibu sat outside next to his 6 car garage (his nicer antique cars got the inside spots)! At some point, I'm told the speedometer was not working for a short time while the motor was given a tune up due to not being driven. My dad died last year and I'm trying to get rid of the cars that I simply don't have room to keep. I WISH I could keep this Malibu, as it's the easiest car I've driven and handles like a go-kart. The 5.0 305 V8 is quick, responsive, and reliable. The paint is is decent shape, but the hood could use a respray. There is a light surface rust spot on the tailgate. All glass is fine. Interior is in really good shape, but the headliner needs to be replaced. Hankook tires are fine. For some reason, I can't get the tailgate glass to close completely, but that's a mechanical adjustment that's beyond my skill level! The gate closes fine. Motor has not been detailed, and shows 20 years of sitting at my dad's house. Same with the mildew on the interior. I cleaned some of it, but another thorough cleaning would do wonders. AC and Heat work, but seem weak. For some reason, the Brake light on the dash is stuck on, and the gearshift indicator stays in P. So .. this car is NOT perfect, having sat at dad's house for the past 20 years before his death last year. These G-body wagons are hard to find, especially with the chrome luggage rack, and are gaining in popularity everyday. Perfect for surfboards on top, or a fun and desirable grocery-getter. For that matter, take the 305 V8 and make this your perfect sleeper or restomod. Asking 9,000 or best offer as I try to liquidate my dad's estate. Thanks for your interest. I know this old Malibu will be a great get for someone, as there are national car clubs and a real following for these G-body wagons.
