Car description

This is an awesome opportunity to make this 1971 Chevy C20 with vintage camper yours. I bought it from the 84 year old nephew of the original owners. The couple that had it used it for camping for about a ten year period, then parked inside of a warehouse they owned and used for storage. The last registration sticker on the original California black plates is from 1982, when I got to drive it for the first time after all those years of being tucked away it felt like an honor! Both the truck and the camper are in great shape and ready to be enjoyed just as they are, or to do your own upgrades to. The interior of the pickup is in very nice shape, the dash is all original, the only exception being the aftermarket air vents the are added below the dash. The original stereo still plays and sounds great, this pickup will take you down memory lane. The vinyl flooring needs replacing due to being brittle from age. The body is in nice shape all around, the paint has some "patina" especially around the hood and fenders. I just replaced the 40 plus year old tires with brand new Firestone Transforce 9.5 R16.5/10LT tires to keep with the vintage look and ride. The previous owner added a third fuel tank, so this truck has three working fuel tanks for those long trips. The engine fires up nicely and sounds excellent. The engine is very reliable and does not leak any fluids at this time, the clutch feels great as well. We just replaced all freeze plugs, replaced the water pump and thermostat along with a new housing. We replaced the master cylinder and replaced various hoses and clamps, and also replaced the exhaust manifold because the old one was cracked. Moving on to the camper, this thing is in amazing condition for the year, if this camper had been out doors it would be destroyed by now. The camper was made by Open Road Campers of Redondo Beach, Ca. with a model number of PD1-G. This camper is stunning for its condition and true vintage charm. The dining table converts to a bed, so there are two sleeping areas. There is a stove top with built in oven, a sink, and a refrigerator. The cushions on the dining set are a nice turquoise, some of the seams need re stitching. The mattress in the loft area is nice and free of stains, etc. This camper was clearly cared for. The bottom step feels a little weak for getting in and out of the camper, I have used it, but it doesnt feel super solid. I have keys for the camper door lock and all of the auxiliary boxes. This is truly an awesome find, and I am hoping to find the buyer who will appreciate both the truck and the camper since it is so rare to find both in such nice condition. PLEASE message with any questions that you may have before bidding. I have included many photoandnd I'm willing to send more upon request. Please come inspect the vehicle in person before you bid or hit buy it now. Please have your money available to complete the purchase. Last thing on the "Please" stuff. Please realize that this is an auction format, the time to consider what you'll happily pay is before the auction ends and before you place your high bid. I have done my best to represent this 1971 Chevy C20 in its true condition. Please ask me any questions you have about this super cool classic find. I will also be including the stand to remove the camper and the tailgate for the truck. This truck is not perfect but it is in amazing all around shape. I have been doing additional small repairs as they show themselves. I am a licensed auto dealer in California so if you're in CA we will need to collect all applicable state required fees for you. If you are an out of state buyer and the truck is being trailered to you then you will need to pay all fees at your state motor vehicles office. I am really hoping to find the right buyer who will appreciate the uniqueness of this vintage pair!
