1968 Corvette powered by a Big Block 427 with a 4 speed. T-Top This is the description from the person I purchased the car from: 1968 CORVETTE COUPE WIH A 427 THAT WAS REBUILT JUST BEFORE I PURCHASED THIS CAR ALMOST 8 YEARS AGO BUT I HAVE NEVER EVEN REGISTERED IT SO I HAVE NOT PUT ANY MILES ON THE REBUILT MOTOR. THE PREVIOUS OWNER ALSO DID THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND THE SUSPENCION. WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR ALL THE MECHANICAL WAS ALL DONE SO ALL I SET OUT TO DO WAS THE BODY AND INTERIOR. FIRST THE BODY HAD FLARED WHEEL WELLS ALL AROUND SO I HAD BOTH FRONT FENDERS AND BOTH REAR QUARTER PANELS REMOVED AND STOCK STYLE WHEEL WELL QUARTERS AND FENDERS WERE INSTALLED. THE CAR ALSO HAD A AFTERMARKET BIG BLOCK HOOD ON IT THAT WAS SO BIG I COULD HARDLY SEE PAST IT SO I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW STOCK STYLE BIG BLOCK HOOD FOR THE CAR. AFTER INSTALLING THE NEW QUARTERS AND FENDERS THE CAR WAS PRIMED AND THEN THE BODY SHOP PUT AN INEXPENCIVE WHITE URITHANE PAINT JOB ON THE CAR GIVING THE CAR PLENTY OF PRODUCT TO BE BLOCKED OUT AND MAKE THE CAR LASER STRAIGHT. THIS IS WHERE THE EXTERIOR IS AT NOW. READY TO BE BLOCKED OUT TO MAKE IT LASER STRAIGHT OR WET SAND THE PAINT AND DRIVE IT AS IS. THE ORIGINAL INTERIOR IS TAN LEATHER AND IS IN GOOD DRIVER QUALITY WITH SOME MINOR DAMAGE TO THE DRIVER SEAT. I HAD THE COMPLETE INTERIOR REMOVED FROM THE CAR BEFORE STARTING THE RESTORATION AND IS STILL OUT OF THE CAR AND I HAVE A NEW FRONT BUMPER FOR THE CAR ALONG WITH ALL THE ORIGINAL BODY TRIM LIKE GRILLS. TAIL LIGHTS THE ORIGINAL REAR BUMPERS AND JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO FINISH ASSEMBLING THE EXTERIOR OF THIS CLASSIC I ALSO HAVE THE SUPER RARE ONE YEAR ONLY 1968 CENTER CONSOLE DATA PLATE THAT HAS BEEN RESTORED. THIS IS THE ONE ITEM THAT IS NOT MADE IN REPRODUCTION AND MOST 1968 CORVETTES OUT THERE HAVE THE 1969 OR LATER TOP DATA PLATE ON THE CENTER CONSOLE I HAVE BEEN OFFERED OVER $500. 00 JUST FOR THE DATA PLATE. PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE ME ON THE MILAGE I PUT IN MY DISCRIPTION THE PREVIOUS TITLE SHOWS THE MILAGE AS EXEMPT BUT THE CAR STARTED ITS LIFE IN MO. BUMPERS AND TAIL LIGHTS FOR CAR FROM WHAT I CAN TELL IT IS AN ORIGINAL BIG BLOCK 427 4 SPEED CAR THAT IS HIGHLY OPTIONED WITH WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE THE ORIGINAL MOTOR BUT NO PROOF IS AVAILABLE. I HAVE HAD PEOPLE COME LOOK THE CAR OVER WHEN IT WAS FOR SALE FOR MUCH MORE MONEY AND THEY. FOR WHAT ITS WORTH TOLD ME THAT IT HAS THE REAR SWAY BAR THAT WAS ONLY AVAILABLE AND INSTALLED ON BIG BLOCK CARS. THE PERSON I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM OWNED THE CAR FROM 1995 TILL ABOUT 2006 WHEN I PURCHASED IT FROM HIM. I HAVE WAY MORE INVESTED INTO THIS CAR THAN MY STARTING PRICE AND SPENT OVER $1000. 00 FOR THE NEW ORIGINAL STYLE HOOD. THE NEW ORIGINAL STYLE FENDERS AND NEW QUARTER PANELS COST ME OVER $2500. 00 WITH OUT THE COST OF LABOR HAVING THE FLARED ONES REMOVED AND THE NEW ONES INSTALLED. JUST IN THE BIG PARTS ALONE I HAVE OVER $5000. 00 IN PARTS INVESTED AND THAT IS WITHOUT ANY LABOR COSTS INSTALLING THE BODY PANELS AND PAINTING IT. The car is as described. . . It now has a nice set of Torque Thrust wheels and Good Year Eagle GT II Tires. . . also have a set of 68 Corvette rally wheels. . . I would suggest to redo the interior. some parts are fine but some need to be refurbished. . . Excellent bird cage. surface rust on frame and very solid body. . . The Power windows are now working. . . This Vette with a 427 sounds great. . . runs strong. The drivetrain. brakes. gas tank. lines and most everything is done to the Vette. . . you would just need to do the finishing touches. . . than enjoy the ride. . . Good Luck Bidding.
