1968 RS/SS Camaro Coupe

This 1968 RS/SS Camaro has approximately 15k miles on a 100% restoration that was started in 1986 and completed in 1989. Before and after photos were taken during the entire restoration which shows record of the car in prior and reconditioned stages. The entire body has been stripped to bare metal repaired and repainted with a Ditzler PPG paint system. The black Bumble Bee Stripe complements the Flame Red acrylic enamel with clear coats that had been finished and buffed for its final sheen. The car includes factory tilt steering. rally rims w/ locks. rear spoiler and the SS hood ornaments. The interior includes the original deluxe seat belts with stainless steel buckles and shoulder harnesses. Factory gauges on the center console complete the Tic-Toc-Tach tachometer that red lines at 5000 rpm. New black interior has completely replaced the original red upholstery. headliner. carpet etc. The Rally Sport package includes the vacuum operated hidden headlights. The car has stainless steel trim around the factory tinted glass and the antenna is factory placed on the right rear quarter panel instead of the usual right front fender. The antenna had been changed to a power antenna for the stock am radio. The Super Sport package (for this car) originally included high performance items such as the big block engine which has been replaced by a completely re-machined 327 c. i. d. engine at 0. 030 over. Other than the block. the engine compartment appearance has be restored to match the stock small block Super Sport Package. This includes the 4 bbl Rochester induction with correct air cleaner. intake and exhaust manifolds connected to double hump heads. The exhaust is a new aluminized dual stock system. The vehicle has power steering and power brakes. All components behind the engine are original which include the Turbo 400 automatic transmission. the 12-bolt posi-traction differential. with a 307:1 gear ratio and the multi-leaf spring suspension. The brakes are stock drum style with the front being air-cooled drums. Additional information: This car was a show class winner at the 1991 Super Chevy Show in Denver. Colorado. It has never been driven in snow. and it has been well maintained. covered. and garaged. Engine numbers do not match. I am the person who did the restoration. so I can hopefully answer any questions you may have.
