We have just added to our extensive exotic car inventory a beautiful 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air in Sunset Pearlescent Orange over Bisque leather interior and only one mile since restoration. This beautiful Bel Air sits at the junction of custom rod and pro street. Outside, the shimmering copper paint covers straight bodywork and is enhanced by new Danchuk stainless trim, new chrome, gold package emblems and clean glass. It's got a great stance with Billet Specialties wheels (20x15 inch in the rear!) wrapped in Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R tires.
Opening the hood reveals why the rear tires are as wide as they are--they need to be to handle the 572 cubic inch crate motor inside! It's a beast of an engine with 620 horsepower and more than 640 lbs-ft of torque...it moves out. A painted and chromed Demon carburetor mixes air and fuel while ceramic coated headers expel the spent gasses. The engine compartment is minimalistic with nearly everything chromed, polished aluminum or painted body color: You don't need gaudy accessories with a motor like this one in the middle. Carefully chosen Billet Specialties and Lokar accessories allow the engine to shine.
Underneath, the car rides on a Roadster Shop chassis with drop spindles, a 2" narrowed track for wider wheels and rack and pinion steering up front while a narrowed 9 inch rear hanging from a four link is out back. Coilover shocks at all four corners along with polished billet Wilwood brakes. A TCI-built Turbo 400 transmission and 3300 stall converter push power back to the 4.11 gearset and 33 spline axles. Exhaust flows through stainless pipes and Borla XR-1 mufflers that's tucked into and through the chassis. A polished aluminum fuel tank and large rear mounted pump feed the hungry engine up front.
Opening the door you'll find a completely custom interior that's upholstered from headliner to the floors. It's all done in Jaguar Bisque leatherette aside from a few light suede touches as an accent. Auto Meter Phantom series gauges with body color bezels keep you informed while the Billet Specialties wheel and Lokar pedals and an Iditit column put you in control. It's a super clean interior that's a cut above.
This is a great '57 with a ton of attitude and the muscle to back it up. It's also an award winner, taking down a Super Chevy gold class trophy in its first outing. It was featured in Super Rod magazine and has taken numerous bests of show.
