Car description |
---|
Right here is a very desirable Chevelle. It is a real code 138 Super Sport loaded with features. Factory triple black car with it's original metal. Frame off restored. Same owner the last 23 years.
EXTERIOR: Georgia born and raised, then lived in southern Tennessee. Claimed to have original metal and our inspection agrees. The body is laser straight from every angle. The panels fit square and flush,, especially the hood is spot on. Restored 15 years ago, the body has proven itself- no signs of rust, repairs, bubbles or cracks. The Tuxedo black paint still has a smooth glossy finish. Door jambs are clean, the weather strips, window seals and sill plates were replaced. The vent windows had new rubber and excellent chrome. All of the trim, emblems, moldings are excellent. Bumpers, bumper gaurds, handles, bow tie mirror are excellent. The vinyl top is excellent. The glass is real clear, windows fit nice. It rolls on a set of reproduction Firestone recline tires. The painted rims have poverty caps for the sleeper look. It has correct T-3 headlamps.
INTERIOR: It has been restored from carpet to headliner. Down on the floor it has nice carpet, reproduction mats and seat belts. There is a factory console sitting between the bucket seats. It has a correct 4-speed shifter sticking out of it with a chrome ball and reverse lockout. The seats were recushioned and upholstered. Seat trim is excellent. In front of me the dash is beautiful- the chrome sparkles, lenses are clear, heater control panel is clean. Overhead the mirror, visors and headliner are mint, the dome light works. Door panels have been replaced. All the bits and pieces like kick panels, trim, arm rests, window cranks all appear to be excellent. It is full of desirable options including the factory gauges, knee knocker tachometer, factory Am-Fm, deluxe 2 spoke wheel and more.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is correct like it was back in 1966. Numbers matching 396 with the optional 360 horsepower. Original Holley intake and dual feed carb. Correct exhaust manifolds, fuel lines, hose clamps, GM hoses, spring clamp battery cables, chrome valve covers and open element air cleaner. The components are proper looking. It has very desirable power brakes and steering. Correct remote reservoir for the power steering. The squirters are hooked up, has correct fan shroud, hood insulation etc.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is complete and clean. Spatter painted nicely, bottom of the trunk and the jamb is glossy black. The weather strip, decals, trunk mat are excellent. It has complete jack and spare assembly, cleaned up and painted. A soft car cover is included.
UNDERSIDE: Looking up at the motor it has fresh looking Chevy orange paint,, fuel pump and starter look new. It has correct screw on canister type filter. Vin # matching Muncie 4-speed looks clean. Original 3.73 12 bolt posi dated to this car. The front end was rebuilt- ball joints and bushings replaced. Shocks front and back replaced. It has front and rear swaybars. Converted to disc brakes in front, e-brake assembly looks complete. Fuel tank, straps and sending unit were replaced. Stock type exhaust system was replaced. The metal looks real dry and smooth. Not just the floors but the frame and chassis components too.
I believe this to be a car with high integrity. It looks and feels right. It has an older restoration that has held up really well. It wouldn't take much detailing to make it concourse condition. It has very desirable factory features and colors. There are many Chevelles to pick from, none of them are this car. This one is special, the next owner should be very proud!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
