Here I have for sale a 1992 Chevrolet S-10 short bed two wheel drive pickup truck. I bought this truck a few years back and have been restoring it ever since. Nothing was overlooked and thousands were spent making this little truck a real head turner. Below is a brief description:
Exterior: The new Silver paint is Axalta Stand-Ox basecoat/clearcoat. Very expensive paint, but man it's slick and looks awesome. Truck was originally silver and blue, so I took the truck apart and stripped it to the metal to change it to solid silver. Under the hood, door jambs, inside the bed, everything painted and clear coated. It was then cut and buffed to the slick finish you see now. Absolute rust free southern truck it's entire life to start with. Front Bumper is re-chrome in beautiful condition. Grille is a real GM nos off a 1993 model. Lower spoiler is new. All lamps in the front are new as well. Hood and both fenders were replaced, original ones had half ass body work done to them. Rockers, cab and corners, roof, doors, all solid and untouched. Bed was sent off and sand blasted, few dents fixed, then entire bed self etched primed/blocked then painted apart. Tailgate is a nos GM from an older model with the embossed Chevrolet banner, which I personally think is vintage cool. Lamps in the rear are new also. Rear bumper is off a 93 blazer, brackets cut down and fabricated to fit the truck. Looks so much better than that huge step bumper that comes on them. At the same time the truck was apart, I installed new glass. Windshield and solid rear factory glass, tinted one. Mirrors, door rubbers, side mouldings, etc, all of it, new. Everything on the exterior of this truck is either new or completely refurbished.
Interior: Insides are really nice and re-done as well. New headliner, carpet with mass backing. I covered the floor completely in dyno-mat sound deadener before installing it. I even purchased nos original 1992 S-10 floor mats off ebay. I found the original seat and door panel cloth in California, so I purchased it and had them both re-covered just like factory. Looks so good. Dash was cracked as they all do, you can't buy a whole dash, no one makes them. So installed a nice sleek cover, looks great, not tacky. Had the Speedometer cluster sent off, everything rebuilt, looks awesome. New CD player and all four speakers replaced while the interior was out. Side windows tinted slightly. Interior is really nice as well.
Drivetrain: This truck has the good ole 2.8 liter six cylinder engine with only 123,000 original miles. Awesome gas mileage, has good power. Had a few small leaks when I got it, so I had my mechanic replace the gaskets on the oil pan and front seal. Went ahead and did a water pump at the same time, and a new battery. Runs flawlessly. Transmission is the Borg-Warner T5 with a new Hurst Shifter. Shifts perfect, clutch is great also. Flowmaster muffler with a new tailpipe really sounds good but not to loud. Drivetrain is all stock. Drive this truck anywhere. A/C was changed over and charged recently, blows nice and cold, heat is hot as well. Sometimes the blend door under the dash won't switch from blowing air from the floor to vent, sometimes it will. Doesn't bother me, but I thought I'd mention it. Oil just changed, she is ready to go.
Suspension: Truck is lowered 4" in the front and 5" in the rear. Done the right way! Front is dropped spindles and springs from Bell-tech, with new shorter shocks. Rear is lowered leaf springs and blocks also from Belltech, also shorter shocks. Rides so good, no rubs or banging. Wheels are new Vision American Muscle. 15x4 in the front and 15x8 in the rear. Tires are new as well. Both only have around 100 miles on them. Truck sits, rides bad ass.
In closing, I have been building all forms of Chevrolet trucks my entire life. I have been a body tech for over 30 years, so I know what a solid body is on a truck. I looked long and hard to find a southern rust free truck to start this build with, so there is nothing hidden or half ass done on this truck. I know in this ad I've said the word "new" about a hundred times, but literally, everything is new on this truck. There is only 100 miles on this build, so it's still fresh and new. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like additional pictures of anything. Third party inspections are also welcomed. I will entertain serious offers and end the auction, but please, we all know how much it costs to restore vehicles now a days, so silly offers will be ignored. Thanks for looking and take care.
Also: Truck will be in Maggie Valley N.C. for the Mini Truck Nationals this weekend at Travelowe's Motel for sale, if someone would like to view it in person.
