For sale is a 1949 Chevy Styleliner Rat Rod custom into pickup truck. Fresh 350 motor with new heads and top end. Lifters pushrods everything.... Sanderson tucked in headers to avoid steering box, edelbrock 4 bbl carb, new starter, new alternator, new radiator and water pump, electric fan, new motor mounts, Antique under dash heater, all new wiring!, automatic transmission, new distributor comes with it but you won’t need it yet. Still needs glass windows, will require welding of doors window frames due to 3 inch chopped top .
The entire drivetrain was taken from a T-boned Chevy G20 van... Engine, Transmission, and rear axle... Driveshaft was custom made by professionals. all is balanced very well, the drivetrain geometry is spot on. Axle perches were welded by a Proffessional shop. New U joints, splines, rear brakes are drum as are front.
Needs brakes, but its ok to drive around town carefully if you are brave. (Needs upgraded master cylinder) My plan was to install front disc brakes, right now it’s running the original 1949 brakes and front end. Steering is surprisingly solid for its age. Interior is fairly nice but it was a quickie job that could always be improved upon if you wanted to turn this into something special... Saturn VUE bucket seats. Needs new truck bed wood or metal plate but there is old wood in there. .
It Has a 15 gallon fuel cell behind the seat. New tires and steel rims with beauty rings. 3 wheel spinners. I think one was stolen... No terrible dents, some rust on floor which I chopped out and repaired....1956 Chevy stepside "Workforce bed. This car Won 2nd place in the “works in progress†category at Walla Walla annual car show. Gets a lot of positive and curious attention wherever it goes. New steel front flooring has been screwed and glued in nicely but welding would probably be better.... Hey its a rat rod now, but I dont have the welding skills.
All in all this is a great looking and unusual rat rod project for someone to finish up. I have 6 years and over 10,000 dollars invested in it even though it may not look like it. The most difficult finishing touches will be the brakes and windshields ( I’m using lexan (plastic glass) now ) and welding the door frames back together I have all the parts but not the skill required to finish the doors. Also included is front and rear bumpers if you want them, a lot of incidental parts like door handles armrests etc. if you need window parts they are pretty cheap on ebay for these old chevys.
starting bid relatively cheap... No reserve... need money due to and employment issues from covid BS
. Buyer must arrange shipping, I will be here to meet shipper and to wave bye bye to my crazy old rat rod project in the hopes that someone will make it into something even more special. It is good for driving around town as it is, but as with all projects.... never finished.
