This 1949 Chevrolet 3100 5-Window Restomod has an awesome sleek look, big fuel-injected V8 heart, and a full custom A/C interior. But those are just the headlines. As you dig into all the details, you're going to discover one of the most thoughtful and meticulous builds around. It's the kind of total package that will have you bringing mirrors to the car shows to put underneath, and you'll always leave room in the bed to haul home some awards.
There is a reason why this paint is so stunning. It has a recipe that starts with two coats of sterling silver, five coats of Wineberry metallic went on top of that, and then three coats of clear sealed it all in. That's how you get such an intoxicating mix of depth, shine, and sophistication. Sleekness was a priority, and so they expertly shaved much of the trim on this pickup, deleted the door handles, went to a single-piece windshield, and added a custom flush bed cover. So that metallic paint that loves to radiate also lets the light rolls evenly and uninterruptedly across the super-straight body panels. This modern look of quality nicely combines with the overall vintage look. After all, this still delivers the best in classic elements, like the iconic five-piece chrome grille and desirable five-window cab. There's even a terrific real wood bed underneath the tonneau. It's a thoughtful build, right down to the wheels. They modern polished alloys, but the design still reminds you of iconic Salt Flat style ones you see on plenty of vintage machines.
This still keeps a hint of the classic style inside with a bench seat, but now it's a full custom unit with terrific bolstering. A removable armrest cup holder console even delivers a bucket-like level of comfort whenever you want. The dash retains a classic look, and custom panel under it now houses upgrades like an AM/FM/CD stereo and R134a air conditioning. Plus, there are more desirable features, like power windows, a Flaming River tilt steering column, and full armrest custom door panels. And the sports steering wheel and full Classic Instruments gauge package lets you know there's something nice in the engine bay, too.
You're going to be showing this custom pickup off to plenty of people, and so you're also going to love lifting the hood. While the engine bay is as clean and tidy as the rest of the truck, the true marvel is how they got so much motor to fit inside. It starts with one of the biggest big blocks you can get your hands on: the 502 cubic-inch crate motor. It a fully-built package that has a stroker crank- so it's really a 509ci V8! It's topped with a Ram Jet electronic fuel injection system that comes with a programmer to dial-in you ideal setting. There's also billet fuel rails with remote pressure regulator, custom cold air intake, and an MSD ignition. It's supported by the right pieces, including electric water pump, 170amp alternator, Moroso remote trans cooler, and a C&R Racing radiator with Spal electric fan. The powerful V8 feeds a heavy-duty Supermatic 4L85E four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive that features a 3200 stall and laptop (included) programming for ideal shift points. Plus, you get great anytime driving features like rack & pinion power steering, wide modern tires, and four-wheel power disc brakes. And everywhere you arrive, you'll love putting a mirror under this low mileage custom. The frame has that same cool burgundy color (see, we told you this was a thoughtful build!) And you'll also notice more great pieces, like the Mustang II tubular A-arm front suspension, adjustable coilovers, a strong Currie 9-inch rear.
The sale comes complete with restoration photos, build receipts, service manuals, a car cover, and more. This is the kind of amazing build that would take you a decade to do yourself. So this is the rare opportunity to skip right to the fun of owning and showing. But you can only do that tomorrow if you call today!
