If you have been searching for a beautiful & highly unique Street Rod that is an absolute blast to drive, but will not break your bank account, I think I have just the car for you!
‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is happy to offer you this super-cool 1950 Chevrolet 2-Door Styleline Deluxe Coupe! This was a California car its entire life before coming to Southern Utah (super-dry climate), and has never seen any rust whatsoever. We have full owner history from 1962 until the present, including dozens of registration slips, and receipts, etc. The restoration/build was done about 12 years ago, but she still looks absolutely beautiful today. This 1950 Chevy is part of a very large collection here in St. George, Utah, who happen to have a staffed mechanic who keeps all of the vehicles meticulously maintained and up to date. According the trim tag, the car was originally Mist Green (Code 433), w/ two-ton Crystal Green top, and grey striped broad cloth interior (Code 171). When it was transformed into the Street Rod that you see today, it was painted Candy Apple Red, which looks outstanding on this car. The original sheet metal is super-straight all of the way around, and the Candy Apple Red paint has been meticulously polished to a lustrous shine. The bumpers, grille, and all of the chrome & stainless steel trim is in very good condition throughout, w/ only minor wear.
A plethora of mechanical upgrades were done to make sure that this car runs, drives & performs just as good as it looks. Upgrades include: Heidts Mustang II front suspension, front sway bar, front disc brakes, 13:1 power steering, air shocks, traction bars, etc. You will notice that the undercarriage is beautifully detailed from front to back (please see chassis photos). She sits on 15” painted steel-wheels w/ chrome beauty rings & chrome dog-dish hubcaps, wrapped w/ Dunlop Qualifier radial tires P275/60/R15 on the rear, and 185/60/R15 up front. This ’50 Chevy is a real looker folks!
Open the driver’s door and you will find a black vinyl/grey cloth bench seat interior that was designed w/ comfort in mind. Interior features include: matching black vinyl/grey cloth door panels, original painted dashboard w/ original speedometer/gauge cluster, chrome tilt-steering column, wrapped & polished two-spoke steering wheel w/ Bowtie logo, in-dash Stewart Warner gauges (oil temperature, water temperature, oil pressure, ammeter, vacuum), dash-mounted Mooneyes tachometer, Vintage air-conditioning, floor-mounted Hurst shifter, and dark grey carpeting from front to back. The interior is a bit older, but still in very good condition throughout, and is extremely comfortable & highly functional in every way.
Now, let’s get to the heart of this beast, shall we?
Pop open the hood and nestled inside the nicely detailed engine bay resides a built 350ci SBC 4-bolt main engine bored .030 over w/ 11:1 pistons, featuring: Winters aluminum intake manifold (casting #18436572 L88 & ZL1), Holley 750cfm carburetor, MSD 6AL electronic ignition w/ 8mm plug wires, finned aluminum valve covers, serpentine belt-drive system, chrome power brake master cylinder, custom full length drag-style headers, billet overflow reservoir, etc. The built 350ci SBC motor is linked to a Muncie 4-speed transmission, which feeds power to the GM 10-bolt rear end w/ 3.73 gears. She fires right up instantly, settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs, drives & performs wonderfully. The power front disc brakes, as well as the updated power steering make driving around town effortless, and when you get her out on the highway she tracks straight & true. The custom 3” stainless steel exhaust w/ Flowmaster mufflers sounds awesome, especially when you plant your right foot down firmly and let her go! She has loads of power & torque, and is an absolute BLAST to drive!
Again, if you have been searching for a unique Street Rod that will stand out from the crowd, and one that can be driven & enjoyed to the fullest, but won’t put you in the poor house, you will want to take a very close look at this beautiful 1950 Chevrolet 2-Door Styleline Deluxe Coupe.
