On Aug-19-20 at 14:07:59 PDT, seller added the following information:Sorry, I thought answers to questions would be posted. The car came from DeQueen AR. I bought it 8 or 9 years ago, after it sat in a garage for 11 years after the previous owner died. The widow sold the property and I bought the car. It was painted immediately before his death, so the paint is good but 20 years old. No rust or body damage that I am aware of, except scuffing of the paint over the passenger side headlight where a tarp came loose while I was trailering it and beat up the paint a bit. 4 Speed is fine, brand new clutch job by Raffee Corvair1 about four years ago, maybe 2,000 miles since. Stock mufflers with straight tips. Custom dual exhaust with crossover pipe also included. Engine started tinkling noises, thought maybe it swallowed a valve seat, lost power in one cylinder, thought maybe a lifter collapsed. Drove it some miles, got worse, started knocking & rattling worse than ever. Traileredit to a shop that pulled the valve covers & pan & said no chunks but lots of aluminum color. They thought maybe a rod was going bad. Drove it back, noises getting worse, wished I'd trailered it again before I got it home, end of story. Convertible top was brand new three years ago, only been up & down a half dozen times since. Kept the tonneau cover on the top, kept car under shelter & car cover.
On Aug-20-20 at 10:34:32 PDT, seller added the following information:Brakes are original style, new wheel cylinders, losing fluid somewhere & have to be pumped up every time you drive it after sitting awhile, grab & pull for a while. NO DATA PLATE in engine compartment - no idea when or why it was removed. Replaced driver side rear spring & most bushings a few years ago, have new passenger side spring & more bushings. Most of a complete engine gasket set, lots of odds & ends. Radio is aftermarket classic style, flakey buttons. Wheels, I'm told, are S10 sport wheels, missing caps, some dents on trim rings. Clark Corvair engine insulation pads.
On Aug-20-20 at 10:53:28 PDT, seller added the following information:Steering wheel is optional adjustable (in & out) with original thin wood rim. Carpet grey replacement to go with seats. Tonneau is a silvery blue, halfway between the car color & the interior color. Console was custom made when seats installed, has cup holders, seat heater switches & two power outlets. A very non-stock grab bar is mounted next to the glove box. The hi/lo switch on the dash is in the spot that Sprints put the headlight flasher switch, has a latching relay so you hit it to go hi, then hit it again to go lo. Much handier than the floor switch that is never where you think it is.
Trunk is good, no rust through anywhere, has original jack. Engine compartment has extra fuse blocks & multi conductor wire run to trunk for future options. No rear speakers, although wire for them is already run under the carpet. Only speaker is a dual cone in the center of the dash. Clock not in dash, doesn't work.
