Offered for sale is a 1-Family Owned Factory Air Conditioned 1968 Chevrolet Impala Convertible that is sure to please! This car was originally owned by a GM engineer and then was passed down through the years. This Impala features the original numbers matching 327cu-in engine as well as the original 2-speed automatic transmission (so states the previous owner). The engine was recently rebuilt during the rebuild the crankshafts were changed; the heads were upgraded to Dart Iron Eagles and now this engine is considered a 383Cu-In that produces over 375HP. The previous owner states that if you were to install headers he believed you could up the horsepower to over 400! The 2-Speed Power glide transmission shifts perfectly and is sure to please. This car was just repainted in spring of 2018 during this time the owner did have both quarter panels replaced with new sheet metal. All of the chrome and chrome accents show great and really set this car off! The white power convertible top functions properly with no lags or issues and is in excellent condition and gives this car a completely different look whether up or down. Throughout the red vinyl interior you’ll find that this car to be very original and showing great! There is a small tear under where the driver would sit but we didn’t think it would be worth replacing. The Factory air conditioning has been converted to R134A and blows very cold! We also had a new Retro Manufacturing radio installed; this stereo looks original but features AM/FM/AUX and functions great! In addition this 1968 Chevrolet Impala features a lot of original parts including the original radio as well as the original build sheet and some other paperwork the family had kept through the years. There are receipts that go with the car showing that a new dual exhaust system was installed the 2 speed power glide transmission was rebuilt along with many other parts that were replaced.
