PLEASE CALL ME AT (76O) 8O5-803eight WITH ANY QUESTIONS. I WILL BE HAPPY TO DO A BUY IT NOW FOR SERIOUS BUYERS.INTERNATIONAL AND OVERSEAS BUYERS WELCOME.
Let me state up front. This will be a long ad. There are a lot of details to cover and I will do my best to cover everything. I have more pictures but I could only add 24 on here. 100 PERCENT I believe this to be an authentic Fuelie and I will do my best to assist you with any details you need to verify for yourself. IF YOU DO NOT SEE SOMETHING, I PROBABLY HAVE IT. JUST ASK. PLEASE VERIFY AND AUTHENTICATE ANYTHING YOU NEED BEFORE BIDDING!
This is a one of a kind Barn Find. They only produced 1,918 total Fuel Injected Corvettes in 62. How many are like this one? It is a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette that obviously needs to be restored but is also far, far more complete and in better condition than most any other project that you will find. If you have ever wanted a Fuel Injected Solid Axle Vette and don't have a jillion dollars to buy an NCRS restored one, this may be your only opportunity to get one. It appears to have come as black/red, 360 horsepower Fuel Injection equipped 327 c.i. V-8, T-10 4 speed, metallic brake option (NOT a Big Brake car), hardtop, soft top car. The car has been off of the road since the early 1970s and stored in a garage here in Southern California. The frame has zero rust. In fact, there is no rust anywhere on the car. I believe it was originally a Tuxedo Black car with Red interior. You can still see the black paint that has not been stripped inside the trunk, behind where the license plate was, and underneath the area that was covered by the rocker trim.
I have the factory Rochester Fuel Injection unit and distributor. It was apparently gone through by John's Fuel Injection Service, a well known place in Paramount, CA that has specialized in them for over 30 years. I do not know how long ago that was done but the card, Injection unit and distributor were all still boxed up when we got the car. I do not believe it is the original motor with it, HOWEVER, it is a February 28th, 1962 date coded 3782870 casting coded small block Chevy 327 which is correct for the car. I believe it was an early Warranty replacement since the pad has never had any numbers stamped on it. It has not been decked and still has the broach marks on the front pad. I don't think there were ever any numbers on it. It comes with the original T-10 4 speed manual transmission along with it's factory shifter and shifter knob.
The body is in very good condition. The doors, trunk, and hood all fit nicely. I believe it had a partial front nose put on it before it was taken off of the road. Not an entire front clip. Just from about the Core Support forward. I think it was only fiberglass damage, as there is no evidence at all of any frame or structural damage. Other than that and couple of very small cracks, the body is excellent. The doors still have windows in them that roll up and down. The windshield and windshield frame are in good shape.
It will be a long list of the things that I know we DO have for the car. Motor, transmission, FI unit, FI distributor, radiator, core support, hard top, white convertible soft top, front and rear bumpers with brackets, brake drums, grill, grill surround trim, wiper arms, steering wheel, steering column, seats, original Wonderbar radio, all of the gauges and gauge cluster (6500 RPM redline tach), heater controls, glovebox assembly, spinner hubcaps, clutch pedal assembly, gas pedal, rear view mirror, red door panels, red kick panels, driveshaft, bellhousing, starter, generator, cowl vent, and on and on. They all original parts. Not aftermarket.
What we don't have: Not much. Maybe some small pieces and odds/ends. Everything big is here!
All of the indicators of an original Fuel Injected car are there too. Besides the unit itself, it has the untouched holes for the Fuel Injection emblems below the Crossed Flags on each lower front fender, the windshield washer bottle was mounted on the passenger side inner fender like this one is, the core support has the screen instead of a block off plate and has no indications that anything has ever been screwed into it. Also, the hose for the windshield washer system ran through the firewall outboard of the passenger side female hood latch on FI cars like this one does. Carbureted cars had a divot in the firewall where that hose was supposed to go. There is no doubt in my mind about the authenticity but PLEASE VERIFY ANYTHING YOU NEED! THANKS AND GOOD LUCK!
Clean, clear California title in hand. All in all, you will have an extremely difficult time finding another one like this anywhere. Yes, it needs to be restored but it is far nicer than most of the restorable cars that are out there. You see a restored one at every show. When was the last time you saw a one like this? You could build your dream Hot Rod or Restomod but this one really deserves a high quality restoration. I am located in Cardiff, California in North County San Diego. Inspections in person are encouraged.
I can help with transportation either getting it loaded on a truck or assisting you however I can at the buyer's expense. Inspections are encouraged but must be completed before the end of the auction. $1000 non refundable deposit due at auction end and remaining balance due within three working days. Payment must be in the form of cash in person or via certified bank wire transfer. I do my best to accurately describe the vehicle to the best of my abilities. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are NOT to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the BUYER to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgement solely. The SELLER shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle at the buyer's request prior to the close of sale. The BUYER is responsible for any/all shipment costs involved in transportation of the vehicle. References for shippers are available upon request. This Corvette is being sold "as is, where is".

I forgot to add that the frame and wheels have already been epoxy primered. They are ready for paint or powdercoating. Thanks!
