Car description |

This 1962 Chevy C-10 Stepside will stand out at any car show and turn heads at cruise nights but it can also be a work horse to carry loads.I put this truckback to original condition except for the radiator. The radiator was built by "Kar House" and has an electric fan. Motor is a 235 CID, 6 cylinder (Blue Flame) that was rebuilt by Anderson Auto Parts, a NAPA dealer. After full cleaning and boring to 0.006" over, a Master kit was installed including: Cam bearing kit, Camshaft, Pistons, Rings, Rod bearing set, Main bearing set, Gasket kit, Oil pump, Gear timing set, Freeze plug kit, and Valve lifters. I also installed a 20 circuit Wiring Harness. Every wire in the truck was changed and every component works. Transmission was rebuilt by I.M. Jeep. About 500 miles on Engine and Transmission since overhaul. This truck was primed with a two part epoxy and finished with enamel.
Body parts and hardware were purchased from LMC Truck. The body work was completed by FastTech, LLC. Including Cab Corners, Rocker panels, Outer cab floors, Door bottoms, etc... Both doors have new hardware, new weatherstripping, and new window regulators.
After rebuilding the engine I added a "Frantz" oil filter (see photo) to clean engine oil continually. When rebuilding the heater a new coil (heat exchanger) and blower motor were installed. The heater and defroster work well. I also installed a valve between the water pump and heater coil so the heater can be isolated in the summer. The dash was rebuilt with four new gauges instead of indicator lights. The dash can be removed by disconnecting four new electrical connectors.Gas tank was steam cleaned, flushed with PRO15 Metal prepand coated with PRO15 Fuel Tank Sealer.
This is a pure 1962 truck. However, I did put in a radio with Blue Tooth so I could talk without holding my phone. This truck runs great and looks great. I occasionally take it to the Michelin headquarters in Greenville for "Cars & Coffee" and it's always a standout. Enthusiasts enjoy the 6 cylinder 235 Blue Flame with a carburetor, and distributor (with points and condenser) that you can work on at home.
