About this vehicleThis 1964 Chevrolet Corvette is a restored vehicle. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives.Seller's NotesNo Reserve!
Selling my 1964 Corvette. It was a difficult decision as it is a wonderful car, but it’s time to try a newer generation Corvette and I don’t have the means to keep both.
Numbers matching L76 365 horsepower 327. Highest power output of any of the carbureted models that year. Close ratio Muncie transmission and 3.73 rear gear ratio. No power steering offered on the 365hp cars, but it does have power brakes. This is a very solid car that is mechanically sound. Starts, stops, shifts as it it should.
The car has been mostly restored. It’s been done to a high standard by a vintage Corvette expert with excellent documentation. This is the best part and reason I bought this car. So many out there list things like “the engine has been rebuilt”, but offer no specifics. What you get with this car is an engine has been rebuilt with paperwork showing the date the work was done, mileage at the time of the work, all parts that were used, the final compression ratio, dyno sheets showing it made factory horsepower, and the phone number of the business who did it in case you have any questions or need anything. I have a 3 ring binder full of paperwork. I'll include the final dyno sheet below.
Specifically, the engine rebuild has less than 3,000 miles on it and it is the smoothest running engine I have ever had in a car. It doesn’t matter what rpm it is just such a nice cruising car. It also has that nice factory high lift cam rumble. It was rebuilt very close to factory specs, but importantly the compression ratio was dropped slightly to allow it to run on premium pump gas. So no mixing with race fuel here, or retarding the timing so much that it loses all of its performance and character. I just had the valves and timing checked/adjusted as necessary this summer by the engine builder. It is ready for many maintenance free miles.
It is as nice underneath as it is up top. Everything on it works. Even the clock works and keeps accurate time! All gauges are clear. The battery gauge does oscillate- always on the positive side. The alternator has been checked and is putting out steady current. It must be a capacitor or something. All lights work. The clutch is new. The paint shines nice with a few typical imperfections. A few rock chips and a couple small spiderwebs on the hood. Pics show those. I’d say it’s driver + quality. All factory trim tags are intact and match the car’s options. It also has the factory hardtop. The white convertible top is in good condition, but could use new weatherstripping in front.
I have used this is a fun point A to point A car. Just to drive out to the backroads on nice days. It’s really nice, but not to the point of not wanting to drive it. However, it would also be great for car shows or to get judged in a NCRS competition.
A link to a couple quick videos I did on the car. I'm not good with videos and they were just taken with my phone, but I thought they might be appreciated. They were taken today.
