Car description |
---|
1964 Chevelle Malibu Supersport. In 1964 the SS was an option for a Malibu. The first 3 numbers of the VIN are 458 which for only 1964 proves its a real SS. The car runs drives and stops really well. It has power drum brakes but they work unbelievably well. The power top works and is in beautiful cond. It has a retro radio in it that isn't anything special but works well. The tires on it are brand new. You could hop in and drive across the country. It has a stock 283 in it with a HEI distributor and a powerglide transmission. The bucket seat interior is beautiful, the only thing left to do is paint the Bezel.
The car looks good from 10' but the restoration is older and really showing its age. Both quarters were changed and still very nice. Both doors have bubbles and clear coat peeling. The hood has 2 rust spots on the front and the clear coat is shot. The trunk lid has some rust coming through too. The worst part of the body is the windshield channel. Its a $50 part but the windshield needs to come out and the part tack welded in. The frame appears to be solid. It is undercoat so someone may have patched the usual bad spots at some time.
If you want a real SS convertible that you can get in and drive anywhere, then restore down the road this is the perfect car for that.
