When it comes to vintage pickup trucks, the 1958 Chevrolet Apache has always been on top of my list, as the new styling w/ quad headlights (instead of the previous two headlight system), and the shorter, wider grille that runs the width of the front end, was so much of an improvement over the previous models. Parking lights were moved to the grille, instead of being in the front of the fender, and the hood is similar to 1955-1956 models, but with a flat ‘valley’ in the middle. Again, I have just always had a soft-spot for the 1958 Chevy trucks, especially the ‘big-window’ models.
‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is very happy to offer you this absolutely gorgeous 1958 Chevrolet 3100 Apache Pickup, finished in Pull Me Over Red, wrapped around a gorgeous two-tone Black & Red interior. This pickup is a show-stopper folks! A full rotisserie restoration was performed by a local gentleman here in St. George, who is a life-long Chevrolet fanatic. A new 'big-window' cab & new doors were installed, which were converted to ‘one-piece’ door windows. New front fenders (inner & outer) were installed as well, as he wanted his new creation to be as nice as it could possibly be. All of the oak-wood in the bed was milled & refinished, and brand new aluminum slats were installed. This Apache was originally Glade Green (Code 705A), but it was decided that Green was just not the way to go on this project. The GM Pull Me Over Red base-coat/clear-coat paint was applied both inside & out, and has been buffed & polished to an illustrious shine. The chrome bumpers, grille, and stainless steel pieces are in excellent condition throughout. She sits on new chrome 15" Rally wheels w/ red dog-dish hubcaps, wrapped w/ Coker American Classic wide-whitewall tires (6.70-R15). You can walk around this truck a hundred times and it looks absolutely gorgeous from every angle.
Open the driver’s door and you will find a beautiful two-tone Black & Red interior that is pure eye-candy! The bucket-seat style bench seat is wrapped in black vinyl w/ red stitching and looks outstanding! Other interior features include: two-tone Black & Red painted door panels w/ new chrome door handles & window cranks, body-colored dash w/ original gauge insert & new chrome knobs/switches, new AM/FM digital radio w/ new speakers, custom wiring harness from LMC Truck, body colored tilt-steering column w/ 3-spoke steering wheel & Bowtie horn button, Hurst floor shifter, electric windshield wiper conversion, chrome Bowtie door trim, and new black loop carpeting throughout. Please look closely at the photos to see the beautiful work that was done on this interior.
Pop open the hood, and nestled inside the nicely detailed engine bay resides a completely rebuilt 235ci Thriftmaster inline-six-cylinder motor, featuring: Clifford intake manifold w/ Weber 2V carburetor, Performance Distributors electronic ignition, split-exhaust manifold w/ new dual exhaust system, 12V alternator conversion, power steering conversion, dual master cylinder brake conversion, and brand new water pump, hoses, battery, cables, etc. The 235ci Thriftmaster motor is linked to the original rebuilt Saginaw 3-speed manual transmission, converted to floor-mount shift w/ Hurst shifter, which feeds power to the original 10-bolt rear-end. A new rear-frame mounted 20-gallon fuel tank was installed w/ new fuel pump, new brakes (front & rear) w/ new wheel cylinders, new rear axle bearings & seals, new rear shock absorbers, and front wheel conversion from ball bearings to roller bearings. I have a detailed itemized list of parts used for the full restoration, which totals: $60,865. A set of (4) painted steel-wheels w/ chrome hubcaps & chrome beauty rings will go w/ the truck. One of the hubcaps flew off right after the restoration was complete, so there are only (3) hubcaps that go w/ this extra set of wheels (see photos). When you engage the original floor-mounted starter button, she fires up instantly, settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs & drives beautifully. This ’58 Apache is an absolute BLAST to drive and gets more attention than you’re used to, I guarantee that!
If you have been searching for a vintage Chevrolet pickup that has all of the classic-truck qualities that you could ever want, then you will want to take a very close look at this gorgeous 1958 Chevrolet 3100 Apache Pickup!
