Only a fraction of this limited production is still with us, don’t miss the opportunity to get yours today! This is a rare 1962 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova 400, the FIRST year of Chevy’s iconic Nova. Chevy would go on to produce the Nova for over 20 years. This classic was manufactured for only two years and in limited numbers. The 1962 Nova line was a major success with over 325,000 sold. Of these, less than 10% were the Series 400 convertibles.
This classic Nova was manufactured at the celebrated Willow Run Michigan Plant in May 1962. Willow Run is the same factory, originally owned by the Ford Motor Company, to produce the B-24 Liberator in World War II before being taken over by GM in the 50’s.
The 400 Series Nova was the predecessor to the muscle car era. She starts easy, runs smoothly powered by Chevy’s, at the time new, third generation overhead valve 194 cu in, straight-6 engine paired with, the also new in ’62, GM’s Air Cooled Powerglide automatic transmission.
Numerous TLC features, including a low 58,556 miles, approximately one thousand miles per year. Only three previous owners, current owner has kept in storage. Includes original NOVA 400 series and V6 nameplates. You’ll even find the original owner’s manual in the glovebox, where it’s been for the past 58 years!
Repainted and interior redone within last ten years with original Twilight Turquoise, Chevy’s exterior color code 917; bucket seats, and rear bench. In the past five years added: four white wall tires, hoses, belts, battery, and side trim package. The matching Chevy hubcaps accent the whitewall tires. Power top with conveniently located dash switch and original AM radio.
To ensure worry free driving, every KoolKar comes with our Route 66, sixty-six-point checklist. This also provides detail of minor repairs/maintenance items, see pictures. International buyers welcomed!
