When Chevrolet launched the all-new 1963 Corvette Sting Ray on September 26, 1962 they couldn't have caused a bigger sensation had they landed a UFO in Central Park. The design team led by Bill Mitchell and Larry Shinoda used Mitchell's amazing Sting Ray Racer as inspiration for the production car, and they aced it.
