Owner's Manual SELLER REMARKS This 1972 Chevrolet Camaro hits all the right notes: a great color scheme. the perfect stance. and a warmed-over 350 cubic inch V8 all make it the car that every red-blooded American guy would love to own. Second-generation Camaros have aged well. and they rarely look so good as this one dressed in basic Tuxedo Black. Somehow the dark color makes it look even longer and more sinister than the other familiar colors. and with a cowl-induction hood. a chin spoiler. and the ducktail out back. it certainly nails all the familiar Camaro go-fast parts. It's not a real RS. but the split bumper conversion was well done and unless you're an expert. nobody will know the difference. Silver stripes add a slightly different look that you don't notice until you have a second look and they work especially well with the updated rolling stock. making this car seem younger than it is. There are a few signs of age and use. of course. but you can see that the sheetmetal is in good shape and you know that black paint doesn't tolerate mistakes or careless workmanship and everything lines up quite nicely. This is definitely a car you'll be proud to own. Black-on-black is really the only sensible choice. and the stock high-back bucket seats have a sporty look that suits the Camaro just fine. Hard to tell if the front seats are really nice originals or older replacements. but either way they're in good shape and ready to go with just moderate wear and no splits in the covers. The rest of the soft parts are in similar condition. with all the components look pretty much the same condition and age and no major issues. Everything else is pretty stock. too. including the steering wheel. gauges and center console with horseshoe shifter. The factory radio is long gone. which is a good thing. because the modern AM/FM/CD stereo head unit makes the most of the space in the center of the dash. right above the auxiliary gauges neatly integrated into the console. The trunk is also nicely finished. including a reproduction mat and old-school bias-ply spare tire with complete jack assembly. The 350 cubic inch V8 has been beefed up with the usual improvements. making for an easy-to-drive car that still has the power to put a grin on your face. It certainly looks great sitting in the engine bay surrounded by lots of new parts. including chrome air cleaner and valve covers. plus a fresh alternator and master cylinder. An aluminum intake and Holley carburetor handle intake duties. while ceramic-coated long-tube headers and a mellow-sounding exhaust system handle the gasses. The TH350 3-speed automatic transmission always seems to be in the right gear for any situation and more speed is just a tickle of your right foot away. A 10-bolt rear end hangs on leaf springs that give it just the right stance. especially with those gorgeous Torque Thrust wheels. Low-profile 235/45/18 front and 255/40/18 rear tires give it modern handling without a major ride penalty. Cars like this are seeing some gains in the market these days and while it's not a show-winner. this is definitely a car that everyone will admire and respect. none more than the guy behind the wheel.
