1994 Caprice police package (9C1) with all the heavy-duty cop goodies: Corvette-derived LT1 5.7 (350) V8 engine, 4 wheel disc brakes, 3.08 gear ratio, engine oil cooler and extra transmission oil cooler, thicker frame, etc. If you’re not scared away by the fact that the front bumper cover hasn’t been reinstalled (I removed the original drilled bumper with push bar and include the better parts without push bar holes) and the clear coat is peeling, you’ll appreciate how hard to find a genuine unmolested B-body 9C1 is nowadays. 59,758 actual miles, yes, ACTUAL MILES!
I bought it years ago straight from the Tucson Police Department when they closed Chevys out of their fleet and converted totally to Crown Vics -- supposedly because they wanted to simplify their spare parts inventory. I had quite the 9C1 collection at the time and at that sale snapped up a bunch of spare parts, extra 9C1 wheels, all kinds of goodies. This was my favorite of the bunch, partly because I think it was a well-kept supervisor’s car with low miles. It had a bad 3-4 clutch pack so I had it professionally rebuilt by a shop in Tempe. I was going to repaint it black so it’d be black with tan interior, my favorite color combination, to go with cloth power seat and carpeting, pretty well optioned for a cop car.
I kept driving (and selling) my other Caprices, always keeping this one as my project. Sadly, life intervened and I’ve never got around to this project. As I’ve sold some of my other projects, like Scout, ’66 Jeep Gladiator, now ’66 tow truck, so I should let this Caprice go to someone who will better to her than me. Yeah, I’ve been a bad dad. She deserves better. She has a couple of dents at the bottom of the doors and one in the left front fender, all bolt on places if you don’t want to repair them. Rust-free as only an Arizona car can be, please see the picture of the original factory coating on the frame.
The front bumper crash bar and bumper cover are included, just not currently installed. Someone robbed the alternator, but I will install a high output heavy duty 9C1 alternator. I put in a new fuel pump and rinsed the tank so it runs and drives (I can send you a short video if you like), but it should have fluids changed before driving much. Tires are old and one flat came apart when moving it around, so really can't drive it much more than onto a trailer right now. If you are from far away and need a transporter, I can find a tire so the transporter will consider it a run and drive for their musical cars trailer parade across country (just something black, round and holds air for the trip.) It ran and drove very well, which is why I always held it back when someone wanted to buy one of my other Caprices. Please someone be a better owner for her than me and fix her up like she deserves.

Many people over the years have asked me to sell some of my eclectic collection of old cars and trucks and I’ve always refused.
