Up for sale Dubbed “Back Forty†is this super cool 1940 Chevrolet pickup! A true survivor sporting its original paint and patina. The outside is old, dented, scratched, rusted perfection but all of the mechanics, electrical and comfort have been taking care of! First off this thing has had the original motor swapped for a more peppy 1968 camaro 230ci 6 cylinder still backed by the original 4speed and closed drive line. At the time of the motor Swap the 6 volt harness was removed and replaced with a new 12 volt as well as the entire fuel system replaced including tank, sending unit, fuel pump, lines and rebuilt carb. The complete brake system has had the wheel cylinders rebuilt, new brake shoes and hardware, master cylinder, brake lines and hoses replaced. The new stuff continues with new exhaust all the way out back, all of the glass has been replaced and new seals, window fuzzies have been installed. Original vintage Fulton aluminum visor put on. The floor of the truck has been sound deadened and had a new rubber mat installed. The seat was taking down to the springs, rebuilt and reupholstered in the original material with foam added for comfort. The original 15in artillery wheels were blasted and painted the cream before having new 1940 1/2 ton correct hubcaps and radial tires installed. All of the lights and turn signals work. The truck runs, drives and rides like you’d expect an 80 year old truck to. She is bumpy, noisy and 50mph is about tops for the old girl. She doesn’t smoke or leak oil but the motor does have a lifter/valve train noise until off idle. 2 pumps of the throttle in the morning and she fires right up and purrs like a sewing machine! Only 60 miles have been put on it after the revamp. This thing in my opinion would be the perfect advertising piece for your, brewery, distillery, farm, or business you name it!
