The ’61 Impala had a one year only top that was nicknamed a “Bubble Top” It was very similar to the ’59 and ’60 models but with the fins of the body being gone it made for one of the most unique rides Chevy ever made. The one we have for you had some upgrades with the Four Wheel Disc Brakes along with New Interior and Paint. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior. interior. and driveline of the Plymouth. but first we would like to tell you a little about us. Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned. operated. and own our entire inventory. no consignments. and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 50 to 60 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So. that’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. The body is straight as an arrow with good fit of the panels. All the stainless fits well and shows well as does the Bumpers. The white inlay in the side trim complements the Roman Red Paint. The paint shows well with a good shine. All the glass looks good along with its’ trim. When you look in the jams and in the trunk all the paint looks good along with the weather stripping. The final exterior touch is the American Racing Rimes with a set of 3 Bar Spinners and new Tires. Next. we will take a look at the interior of the Bubble Top. One the inside it’s done in the factory style with the correct bench seats. The seats have the correct style Red and White Vinyl with cloth insert covers and are new. They match the door panels and it has red carpet with a white headliner. The inside stainless look good and it has a factory padded dash that is red. When you look at the dash it all looks correct with an AM/FM Radio being added. It comes with the Hurst 4 Speed Shifter and Black Boot. Finally. we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood it is done nice with the firewall being painted with black inner fenders. It has a 350 V8 that is mated to a 4 Speed Muncie with the stock rear end. The engine is dressed with an aluminum intake along with a set of chrome valve covers and breather. The alternator and pulleys are also chrome. For driver options it comes with Power Steering and Four Wheel Power Disc Brakes that has red calibers with drilled and slotted rotors. When you look under this ride the floors and frame looks solid with no signs of any damage.
