62 Chevy Impala SS 409 Restomod. A superb example of one of the most iconic entries into the dawn of the muscle car era. Starting with a totally rust free, original and authentic Southern car purchased by a wealthy collector that gave great credence to the cliche' "money is no object". Over 106K invested to purchase, professionally restore and modify in order to reach this level of quality and refinement. Totally disassembled down to the frame. Reassembled with all new suspension components including both upper and lower control arms, a one-inch lowering kit with new springs and gas shocks, front and rear sway bars, and polyurethane bushings throughout. The entire rear differential is fitted with a later GM Eaton 10 bolt with 3:73 limited slip (posi). Also reassembled with 4 wheel power disc brakes. The resulting ride and handling are that of a much newer supercar sedan. The engine got a 12K rebuild. It now has Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads, an Edelbrock hydraulic roller cam, and rockers along with a balanced, precision rebuild. An auxiliary automatic vacuum pump is installed to keep smooth operation at all RPM's. Also under the hood is an MSD capacitive discharge ignition with a dial-in rev limiter. The exhaust is handled by Sanderson ceramic headers, 2.5 inch aluminized pipes and Flowmaster mufflers. Desktop dyno estimates the horsepower in excess of 500. It certainly feels like it and the sound is awesome. The engine is coupled to a McCloud clutch and a super T-10 with modern Hurst Competition Plus shifter. All mechanical systems are sound and functionally perfect. Outside the body is gorgeous. All the gaps and reveals are consistent and in factory tolerances. It has a beautiful, buttery smooth Deltron paint in the original Roman Red color. It has California one-piece front and rear bumpers, dual rearview mirrors and dual antennas. The wheels are 15X8 deep dish ralleys with BFG raised white letter tires. All the glass is either new or otherwise perfect. All weatherstrip, fuzzies, and rubber seals are new. The interior is all new and period correct. That's new carpets, seats, door panels, headliner, and finished trunk. The floor was first lined with Shark hyde insulation before carpet padding. The car has a complete Tru-Fit vintage air conditioner and heater that uses the original factory controls, It has a rare power windows option and power door locks as well. Embroidered logo carpeted mats. Everything works including the original factory radio and clock. This car is fully sorted and has no issues. No disappointments. I am selling for less than 1/2 of the investment and am offering free covered transport anywhere in the US if the buy it now is used, otherwise, the highest winning bidder must pay to ship. $1000 deposit is due at the end of the auction and the balance within 10 days.
