1970 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible -

(Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.)
Here's a car that has documented history with it, which includes the Protect-O-Plate. Our client has owned this car for the past 15 years and has carefully maintained the car just as it was when he purchased it. Who doesn't love a well maintained Red C3 Vette 4 speed, that has a few extra ponies under the hood?
The Protect-O-Plate shows us that the car was originally sold new to a gentleman who lived in Gallatin Tennessee in early 1970. According to records the car was also owned in Alabama, and Kentucky, but most of its time was spent in Tennessee before being brought north to Michigan in 1999. Since being in Michigan, it has been stored winters to keep the snow and salt off the car.
At some point quite some time ago, the car was painted Red (similar to Corvette's Monza Red), although it originally left the St.Louis Assembly Plant finished in Donnybrooke Green (Code 982). The exterior shows well with glossy paint, nice chrome throughout, and a top that is in great condition. Rallye wheels with chrome beauty rings and chrome centers help brighten up the exterior. Small changes to differentiate the exterior of the '70 Corvette from the previous model year are the egg-crate 'grills' on the front fenders, and square exhaust pipes at the rear of the car.
Inside the car, the interior looks just the way it would've left the assembly plant - black vinyl trim (code 400). The familiar interior features bucket seats, auxiliary gauges, split-three spoke steering wheel, and an AM/FM Radio. A few imperfections can be found on the driver's side door, but other than those small spots the interior is in very nice, complete condition.
Under the hood is a 'Fast Burn 385' ZZ4 GM crate engine. Our client still has the original, numbers matching engine on a stand which comes with the car. The Fast Burn 385 puts out 385 horsepower right out of the box, which is on par with the limited production ZR1 for 1970. With a Holley 4 BBL carburetor and HOT cams like this car has, other Fast Burn 385 engines are producing approximately 425 horsepower. Plenty of power in a car like this Vintage C3 Stingray! A 4-speed manual gearbox handles gear selection, and power disc brakes front and rear slow this Vette down. Power steering was not chosen on the options list, so it's all about driver input when steering and shifting this car.
Drop top driving is made more enjoyable thanks to the power of the GM crate engine and the sounds it makes. This car has good looks, a 4-Speed, bucket seats, a powerful crate engine, convertible top....all that's missing is you and a sunny day! Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Call if interested or e-mail with any questions. Thank you for looking.
