Rather than list all the stats for this 1970 Corvette. I would like to tell the story about it so you can understand the condition it is in and have a good idea for what you are buying. especially if buying from afar. Please note it is being sold as-is. it is not a matching numbers car (read below). and it is a pretty good car for someone with a little bit of know how to do some minor things. Right now it is up and running and driving around just fine. but might need a tune-up to really get things perfect. I bought the Corvette as my first car around 2001 as a project car that ran in good condition with only minor maintenance needed and some cosmetic. At the time it had an estimated 90. 00 miles on it but the odometer was broken. so I can't say for sure. I drove it around for the next two years and fixed a few things on it and tuned it up. It ran nicely except when driving at freeway speeds it would rattle the stick shift a bit. I took it in to the Corvette Shop here in San Diego and they drove it around. brought the RPMs up to red line and the engine shot a rod clear through the engine block. We ended up paying for the shop to put in a newly rebuilt Chevrolet engine from that time period. the same 350 ci 350 hp v8 and the Corvette shop in turn gave us the labor part on the install for free. So right now this car basically has a brand new rebuilt engine sitting in it. Then. shortly after I took off for college out of state and had to park the Corvette in San Diego on the side of the family house. in the shade and covered. We kept it running by turning it on once or twice a month for the next 11 years or so while I lived out of state. The car had not trouble running the entire time it was stored. I recently moved back into town and wanted to get the car back on the road. All it needed to get up and running again was a new fuel line. some other hoses. and new brake calipers. After moving out from the family house. I do not currently have a place to store and work on it and is the reason why I am choosing to sell it. The car runs well. but it could use a full tune up. The shop said the carburetor needs some tweaking as well. The vacuum line works. but one headlight is not popping up and could be due to a disconnected hose. but I am not sure. It will probably need new tires. some paint if you need perfection closer than 10 feet and the chrome needs a polish or possibly re-dipping. The interior seats are in great shape. the interior door panels have some wear. Other than that I am not aware of anything else since with this type of car you shouldn't fix it unless its broken. There may be a few other things that pop up down the road. but because this is a project car that still needs a little work that is probably the norm. It would do well at the home of someone willing to do a little work and give it a nice drive on the weekends. It looks great out there on the road. especially with the t-tops and back window off. plus it sounds great as well. I will miss this car a lot.
