1967 nova beautifully done and ready for shows.
BodyThe car was completely dissembled and blasted. There was little rust found. The trunk center front floor pans and both full quarter panels were replaced. The outer wheelhouses were replaced with Detroit Speed mini tubes that look factory but give that extra tire clearance needed. The doors are factory and were rust free. The front fenders are GM nos. The hood is a 2 inch steel cowl hood which has a dime size dent could be removed paint less. Both bumpers are new along with the grill and headlight bezels. All the weather stripping was replaced. The glass is all original except the new windshield which has a small chip from driving it the 200 miles that I did. The rest of the glass has scratches from being original to the car. All the trim was either polished or bought new. The entire car was epoxy primed. the under side was sprayed with a single stage Dupont. The outside was a base coat clear coat which Dupont chroma premier was used. The color is super jet black as you can see in the pictures and the video it is a very good job but it does have close up imperfections.Front SuspensionThe entire suspension is custom and powder coated to keep it looking good for years to come. The font clip is a customized checkered racing coil over. The control arms are tubing with chromoly superior heim joints. The coil overs are qa1 wrapped with 650 lbs springs. The front frame was reinforced with a custom made tubular cradle that ties into the subframe of the car and to the tubular transmission crossmember. The front spindles are mustang 11 style with coated drilled and slotted rotors. The brake calipers are Wilwood dual piston. The rotors also have long chromoly lug studs. The front Aluminum wheels are 15x6 weld rts with Mickey Thompson 26x6x15 sportsman s/r tires. The steering is a chrome manual rack. The steel steering shaft is welded to superior Borgeson u joints for piece of mind steering. The steering column is a chrome tilt Ididit with a billet specialties aluminum steering wheel.
Rear SuspensionThe rear suspension is a parallel 4 link with a panhard bar. The crossmember is 3x2 box tube with an integrated driveshaft loop. The crossmember is fully welded to the unibody along with other supports. The frame connector is welded also. check out the pictures this car is very strong. The bars and panhard are chromoly with superior chromoly heim joints with grade 8 hardware. The coil over shocks are qa1 with 170lbs springs. The rear brakes ar budget discs with single piston calipers. The calipers have an integrated e brake that I can't get to work. All the brake lines and hoses are stainless steel for long life. The master cylinder is a chrome 1" bore. The brake system could be bleed for better performance they are a 2 pump and firm right now. The rear wheels are 10x15 weld rts with 275/50/15 Mickey Thompson et streets. With this combo you get 10" tread contact.
InteriorThe interior was completely stripped out the floors were epoxy primed then lined with flex clad which is a heat and sound barrier similar to Dynomat. New carpet installed. The seats were stripped down to the frame and custom foam was made and contoured for outstanding looks and to keep you in the seat. The covers were custom made with the alligator inlay. All the materials are vinyl for you animal lovers. The headliner was also custom made with the same materials along with the door panels and the rest of the interior. The dash insert is aluminum along with the radio delete and the glove box accent. Then gauges are custom speed hut brand with gps speedo. The seat belts are new 3 point style with GM badged females. Floor mats have the chevy11 insignia. Thanks for all the nice work Bruce at Needle Trades.
WiringThe entire car was rewired with a painless kit number 90501. The battery is an optima and is located in the trunk behind the rear seat. The ignition system is an msd digital 6al box blaster coil and a msd billet distributor. The headlights are bulb replaceable leds. This car is wired properly with no battery drainage will fire up after sitting for months. It has proper relays where needed.
DrivetrainThe engine is a 496 cubic inch big block Chevrolet. The rotating assembly is scat with a 4 bolt block. The heads are patriot freedom that were worked over by race krafters Lancaster PA. The camshaft is a lunati part number 60213 which is a hydraulic roller. The lifters are competition cams 15854-16 which are the short travel hydraulic style. It has full roller rockers the intake is a weiand single plane with a 850 holley hp series on top. It has a short weiand water pump with a serpentine belt for zero slippage. The headers are 2" primaries custom made for this car with 3" collectors to 3" Stainless steel tube into stainless borla mufflers. The car sounds amazing !! It has a deep sump oil pan to hold 6 quarts. The starter is a powermaster and turns this big block over great. The flex fan is attached the water pump and for them extra hot days there's 2 electric fans in front of the radiator that are turned on with a sending unit. The engine was run on a dyno and made 636 hp and 621 fts torque all under 5900 rpms!!!!!This torque monster is a beast in this lightweight chevy11 and running on 93 pump gas at 180 degrees. You will have a smile on your face the entire time your driving it!! The gas tank is an Aeromotive part number 18331. Which it has the 340 pump installed in the tank to keep it cool and best of all you cant hear it run! The fuel lines and fittings are Fragola the fuel filter and regulator are Aeromotive. The transmission is a 400 turbo with a full manual valve body. This means you have to shift every gear. It was completely rebuilt and strength added to handle the big block. It will stay cool with the extra deep finned pan. It also has an extruded aluminum cooler mounted on the inner fender with an electric fan behind it. All of the lines and fittings are also Fragola. The torque convertor is a 10" Hughes brand 3000rpm. The driveshaft was custom made from 3" tube with new ujoints and slip yoke. The rear end is a ford 9" with a rear brace welded to it. It was narrowed for perfect fitment of the tires. The center section has a track loc posi with polished 375 nascar gears (which look amazing). The axles are 28 spline mosers with long 1/2 wheel studs.
