Chevrolet Other . Condition is Used1927 Chevy roadster, quality built fun easy to drive car.The wood construction is of the highest quality with mortise and tenon jointery. It’s finished in spar varnish so it’s waterproof. Doors and tailgate open close and fit perfectly. With Bear claw latches mortised in. Many hours and expertise went into building this body. The hinges and hardware are stainless.
Power comes from a 4.3 Chevy (3/4 of a 350) with a mercury marine distributor and Quadrajet intake/carb. Has the roller cam, one piece rear seal and center bolt valve covers. Runs perfect, smooth, and no leaks. Dual exhaust turbo mufflers, polished stainless tailpipes with a slash cut tip. It sounds nice and mellow. It’s backed up by a 700r4 automatic which has the quality painless wiring kit to work the overdrive and lock up converter without a computer. Shifter has a glass blown handle on a Genie shifter. The rear axel is a S-10 unit with modern wide springs for a smooth ride.It is a maintenance free set up. Just change oil.
Up front is a Superbell axel with stainless hairpins supporting it with a transverse spring. Cross steering set up with chrome shock absorbers. Low steering effort even when standing still.
Power disk brakes, smooth and effective and serviceable from a door in the floor, as is the battery. It utilizes the original brake pedal from 1927. And has a parking brake.
The frame has been boxed and powder coated.
The Body metal is all stock 1927 Chevy, chopped windshield with chrome stanchions. The rear fenders are glass 32 Ford because they look right. The rear wheel arches were made in a custom jig. Very interesting, it gets lots of questions of where it was done. The doors open at the front. Paint is base clear and is fantastic.
Painless wiring harness, the front seats are heated for the cool ride home at night. Headlights are halogen conversions with resilvered reflectors is the stock 27 buckets high and low beams that are very bright. Cowl lights have milk glass lenses. All lights work including rear license plate light. Inst cluster is 48 Pontiac all gauges work except Batt which wasn’t wired in because it’s an amp gauge.Spedo, temp, oil and gas do.
Radiator is a custom copper unit. Water pump is the short SBC unit and has the standard one wire alternator.
Clear 1927 Chevy title.
Wood work and paint were done 10 years ago but look new. It stands the test of time. A little rain won’t hurt it. But no wiper blade. That was by design, Just use an adsorber to wipe it off and wax it.
Fun car forSaturday morningcoffee runs, fairground cruising, but still will run 75mph with ease. Small and doesn’t take up much garage space. Once again, so easy to drive
