Yes. it really is as nice as it looks. and no. that price isn't a misprint. Bet you just did a double-take. too. didn't you?The sizzling red paint job is just the beginning here. First of all. that's fairly fresh paint. and it looks pretty darned good now. a proper cut and buff made it ready for you to show it off. The cowl tag says this one was originally code 63 Champagne. but the red on it now is a perfect shade. not too pink and not too orange. but a brilliant fire engine red that just shouts high performance. The bodywork is laser-straight. the quarters are blocked and shiny. and it was reassembled so carefully that the gaps are incredibly even. This is a Malibu. and it's kind of refreshing to see that they didn't dress it up as a fake Chevelle SS. but instead let the handsome bodywork speak for itself. There's a new black vinyl top that fits well and doesn't show any of the usual issues underneath. the hood is the original piece. and even the grille is a non-SS piece that looks fantastic. The chrome is very good. the stainless trim polished up nicely. and did I mention the price? Wow!A classy black interior has been fitted with fresh seat covers that feature a subtle pattern that's a Chevelle hallmark. and red piping that gives it a custom look. In 1969. it was hard to be sure what interior you would get. as a fire at the plant had GM grabbing Pontiac. Buick. and Oldsmobile seats and throwing them into Chevelles. but the net result is that is looks fantastic. The matching door panels are quite likely original. and fresh carpets offer the correct weave. The original steering wheel and gauges (in great shape. by the way) are joined by a pair of Summit Racing gauges under the dash. The center of the dash houses an AM/FM/MP3 head unit with iPod interface. which controls a set of speakers in the rear package shelf. and it's linked to a power antenna on the rear deck. The trunk is neatly finished with spatter paint and a full-sized spare tire with jack assembly. so it's ready to cruise. Any V8 Chevelle is a delight to drive. and the 350 cubic inch unit under this car's stock hood has been rebuilt and augmented with a handful of typical speed parts. Both the carb and intake are by Edelbrock. with most everything else receiving a coat of Chevy Orange paint. A newer dual exhaust system has been fitted and gives it a great V8 sound. and while the chassis hasn't been detailed for show. it's quite clean and solid with no glaring issues. A TH350 3-speed automatic spins a 10-bolt rear. and it has that perfect stance that all muscle cars should have with a bit of a rake that suggests plenty of speed and power. And those Boss Motorsports wheels are a spectacular addition. wearing 245/40/18 performance radials. This is one heck of a lot of car for not a lot of money and it comes with a bunch of restoration receipts to boot!
