Car description |

Built between 1959-1960 and then again between 1964-1987 the El Camino was an adapted from a two-door station wagon platform. It was in response to the Ford Ranchero. The design may have been new to the US but not new in General. Several manufacturers had used the basic Ute design in Australia where it is still a huge success. The fifth generation of El Caminos were built between 1978 and 1987 when production quietly ended for good. There were several trim options available through GM and also after market companies. The base engine was the 4.3 liter with an optional 305 cubic inch V8. For the first time in its production the El Camino had a chassis uniquely its own.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1980 Chevrolet El Camino for your consideration. a 350ci V8 with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and a turbo 350 trans behind it, this isn't your standard El Camino. An older restoration, this El Camino is finished in Gray with Claret Dark stripes and roof to complete its two-tone look. The interior is in excellent shape with reupholstered cordovan buckets and a cherry wood steering wheel. It has an aftermarket CD/FM/AM radio with aftermarket speakers, and newer Chevrolet wheels wrapped in brand new tires. The car fires right up and sounds excellent, and shifts smooth.
This 1980 El Camino goes down the road as good as it looks and is sure to put a smile on the driver's face. Clean examples of El Caminos are getting harder to find and this one shows excellently.
