Car description |

This is one sweet, clean, and beautiful 3 owner, 71,000 original mile, 1984 Chevrolet Scottsdale K10. Spent most of its life in Colorado before making its way to the high desert of California and is in very nice original shape.
I recently purchased this K10 from the second owner, who acquired it from the grandson of the original owner. The grandfather purchased new in 1984, Fort Collins dealership. grandfather took special care of the truck, used it sparingly, pampered it from day one.
Grandson received it in California by 2016; grandfather was adamant the truck be shipped the 1,000 miles to keep the miles down!
The interior on this rig is clean, original and well sorted. With the exception of a wear area in the rubber floor mat at the gas pedal the interior is perfect yet very basic (the Scottsdale package came with a rubber floormat, no headliner, standard door panels etc). The dash is perfect, the door panels are perfect as are the steering wheel and seat. There are 8 small mounting holes (on the interior of the cab) where grab bars were installed above and behind passenger’s door as well as 4 holes above and below the back window where a gun rack was mounted. The interior rates as an 8.5 out of 10.
As for the body, paint and trim, very nice driver quality. Second owner had the truck repainted in original colors. According to second owner, when the truck was repainted two very small areas that were starting to bubble were repaired. One was right above the tailpipe behind the drivers rear wheel and the other was behind the driver’s door in the lower portion of the cab corner. Both were very minor, but should be disclosed here. The repaint looks very nice from 10’ but upon close inspection you will notice a good wet sand and polish would do it wonders. It would be a 10 out of 10 at that point. Doors close nicely, the body lines are straight and there are no dings, bumps, bruises or scratches. A professionally installed, color matched bedliner was also installed when the truck was repainted as was a new custom rear step bumper. Nice touches for sure.
This K10 is light on options. AM/FM, dual tanks and cloth seat. None of the bells and whistles that become problematic on vehicles of this age. Second owner added aftermarket cruise control to the truck. Everything works on the truck including all instrumentation, heater/defroster, radio, and lights. Its ready to go and a pure joy to drive.
Mechanically, the truck is super solid and recently serviced. No major drips, slobbers or awful noises. The transmission shifts smoothly, 4x4 works properly and dropping into 4 low is no problem. The 305 runs great with no noises, misses or annoying hesitations. Recent work includes the installation of Warn locking hubs, carb rebuild and new (nice) exhaust. New battery installed in Jan, 2020. To top it all off, the second owner had the rally wheels sandblasted and professionally powder coated. They are gorgeous.
Simply put, you would be hard pressed to find another 1984 K10 in as good of condition and as honest a rig as this truck is. It is the real deal.
