Car description |
---|
1967 Impala Station Wagon. Solid frame / Rusty panels. New door panels (4) and new upholstered front bench seat with arm rest included. Has rust above windshield. Has rust both front floorboards, quarter panels. Windshield has 2 stone chips. No other broken glass. Power drum brakes. All windows roll up and down. Engine rebuilt with 20,000 +/- miles on it. Gas tank straps are rusted. No brakes. New exhaust.
The air conditioning worked when I drove it. It has not been disconnected or tampered with. It is complete. The hood is rusting from the inside and has started to come through above the driver's side hinge. Rocker panels are factory red paint and show no signs of softness.
Immediate non refundable PayPal payment of $300 within 24 hours. Add 3% if using credit. Balance must be cleared before removal. Cash is king.
I have owned it since the 90s and it has treated me very well. The engine has hardened seats in the heads. It does not have the original motor.
The 2-speed Powerglide and differential are original to the car.
Also included are; drivers side fender, wheel well, and door (oem). Those parts are from a Biscayne which has different molding than Impalas. The holes for that molding I welded closed and body work done. Same for fender. I painted fender and door the correct body color for this car. I used all PPG products in 2008. Still looks like I did it yesterday although there are a few moving scuffs on door. Black frame paint on new door is dp90 two-part epoxy primer.
I did not wet sand clear coat.
The dents in the driver's door and Fender happened on my watch in a parking lot by a drunkard backing into it and sideswiping his pickup truck Intuit. The body lines all match up well and no firewall or pillar damage is evident. He just skimmed across the soft metal and pushed it in. No damage to his truck. The wagon was parked and not running at the time I walked out and witnessed it.
I bought it from original owner in Abilene Texas. Went back overseas and stored it in Wisconsin where it became a band equipment hauler for Boondawgle (see utube) between 98 and 06. Not my best plan. That is what salt does to cars. This car needs a frame-off restoration. It is not an easy fix. Good candidate for a big block clone car or donor car. 1st owner said to me that the original 327 motor gave out in the early 70's and the dealership put in another one. This block is stamped V1114 CMM and no vin stamp on that pad. I rebuilt it soon after purchase and drove it on a family trip from Texas to Sacramento California and bac, through the desert even.
There was also an accident and the rear quarter panels we're fixed with Bondo along with the tailgate and repainted. That happened before I owned it. The front fenders, hood, roof, front doors retain their original factory paint. The front fenders are very rusted on the bottoms. Both wheel wells are rusted at the front lower about 6 inches. Front bumper is straight and a candidate for a rechrome. Grill is also nice. The corner eyebrows have been smashed a few times.
The luggage well is in remarkably good condition.
I have no doubt the engine will run. I have started it many times in the last 14 years. Last time was about18 months ago. I am

The starting price? This price is below what I believe it's worth to me in parts. I have other projects that I could use these parts for like the engine and doors interior parts air conditioning system. I would rather see it go as a whole unit and be put back on the road then to be scrapped out. I will try this route first to see if anyone is interested. I will answer any and all questions but please don't waste my time if you're not serious I am a very busy person. If it does not sell I will relist it a few more times to make sure enough people have had a chance to look at it and then I will make other decisions if not sold. If I win the lottery I will definitely have it restored for myself.
I am not going to try and start it again. The oil needs to be changed and the gas lines cleaned. It IS a good engine.AgainI will answer any and all questions, but please, if you are a Ritalin addicted millennial scooter jockey with a pipe dream please check your bank account first. In other words don't waste my time if you're not serious I am a very busy person. If it does not sell I will relist it a few more times to make sure enough people have had a chance to look at it and then I will make other decisions if not sold. When paid for in full it can stay on my property for a reasonable amount of time for you to arrange transportation at your risk. Thanks for your interest.
