Owning a 1958 Chevrolet Impala coupe is already a mark of distinction, but this one has been upgraded to a whole different level. When the exterior is radiating shine, the interior is as comfortable as a modern luxury machine, and there's a fuel-injected 502ci performance motor under the hood that will humble plenty of other street machines... well then, you know you're looking at a one-of-a-kind restomod classic.
The '58 Impala always looks awesome dressed in black. It's formal, imposing, and emphasizing the dramatic one-year-only styling. The mirror-like shine of the modern clearcoat finish loves to highlight the curves of the sheetmetal. And the way the light loves to flow almost seamlessly across the panels tells you they invested the time and money to get this down to bare metal and build in quality from scratch. A small fortune was spent on getting the chrome mirror-like on everything from the massive bumpers to the delicate fins atop the front fenders. This was a full professional restoration/transformation that was completed in 2010, and there has been less than 5,000 miles put on it since, so everything retains a terrific look. During the build, they were aiming to create the ultimate '58 with a high quality finish all around, so the doors fit extremely well, the gaps are even, and all that glittering trim was painstakingly aligned to give it the look the designers dreamed of in '58.
Inside is a full custom interior that keeps an eye on classic style. For example, the two rows of wide bench seats are the kind of cool presentation you'd expect in a classic '50s machine. But as you get closer, you see that the red is supple leather with suede inserts. So while this looks absolutely vintage, you're going to feel the kind of comfort they could have only dreamed of in the '50s. The red on the door panel, headliner, and surrounding the steering wheel gives this a look that's both aggressive and high-class. Even the trunk is custom upholstered to match. As a true restomod, they have nicely integrated terrific modern luxuries, like power windows, power locks, cruise control, tilt steering column, power steering, and cold-blowing air conditioning. Your first glance at the dash will look quite stock, but as you twist the key, the full Dakota Digital gauge panel lights up. You'll also notice that the flat plate in the dash that coordinates with the surrounding black now lights up to be your AM/FM/CD/DVD stereo. The cool blue of the stereo is in a coordinating tone with the gauges, which just demonstrates more evidence of an exceptionally thoughtful and uniform build.
While the exterior and interior have a few performance cues, this coupe's full beastly nature can no longer be hidden the moment you pop the hood. Within those smooth white inner walls is a serious big block package. This 502 cubic-inch crate motor has the fresh looks that reminds you of how few miles are on this build. It has all the best features, including electronic fuel injection, Tru Trac serpentine belt system, Edelbrock water pump, trans cooler, and a large aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans. The dual exhaust makes a sweet rumble, and any time you want to really bring the thunder, the cutouts let the big block growl. The TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is the ideal paring for a big power motor like this. Plus, you have a Gear Vendors overdrive so that you can cruise down the highway with ease whenever you want! The undercarriage photos reveals more big investments, including a custom multi-link rear with sway bar, QA1 shocks, and four-wheel power disc brakes.
The sale comes complete with build receipts, maintenance records, and restoration photos that all document this very unique creation. This '58 Impala is one special coupe that's ready for you to enjoy long trips and big trophy hauls. Call today!!!
