True 1974 Z28 Camaro selling due to a move across the country. I have owned this car for six years and this was a father/son project. When I bought the Z28 it had a NOM and transmission where the previous owner was considering making a quarter mile drag car. A deal was made where he kept the engine and transmission so I could put in a less tame drive train combination. nbsp; for which my son would be driving the cool Z28. A small block V8(I believe a 305) and a 700R4 were sourced for installation. We installed a RV type cam and dress up goodies. new Edelbrock 500cfm carburetor. valve covers. pulley system etc. for the engine. The transmission was checked by local guru where he installed a wire kit for the lock up mechanism. The engine was installed with headers and complete dual exhaust. and a custom drive shaft to accommodate the larger 700R4 4 speed automatic transmission. A B & M ratchet style shifter was installed to shift the transmission. My son drove this car for his high school years and it went through a couple of transformations from original color. pinstripe mayhem and now. Hot Rod black. Most of the interior was taken out for being replaced. (Carpet and Headliner were no good). Being in college and poor. my son can not keep this car either. It is time to pass it on to somebody else who can appreciate this great car. Now that you know the story here are the details. The body is fairly solid and seems to be all original except for the hood. Rust issues were addressed by the previous owner with body filler. We have sanded the car down to some degree. and found rust/filler in the following areas:Corners of both doors. Deck lid rear seam. Front of lower quarter panels. Rear panel between tail lights. Front fenders appear solid. Visual rust:Front driver floor board. rust around front inner windshield area. battery tray area. The passenger side floorboard was notched out because the transmission vibrated against it. Rear floor pans are solid as well as the trunk and areas around the rear glass. Ok. nbsp; engine transmission work good. The rear end is a 4. 10 posi unit(as I was told). I never had it apart to verify the ratio. but the posi unit works well. I purchased a 3. 08 "open" rear differential assembly (with leaf springs) because of unwanted 180 degree wet weather spins. I never had it installed but it goes with the car. Exhaust leaks at header collectors. I have a lot of interior trim and other miscellaneous parts that go with the car too. Door panels are no good but can be used as patterns. The engine is cooled with a heavy duty 4 core radiator and dual electric fans actuated by thermostat control. The car was made to keep gas consumption down. The car runs and drive good. will it make it to Alaska - I don't know. If you want to make this a show car than it will need complete restoration. If you want a True Z28 to work on and take down to the local drive in/ whippy dip/ burger joint. than this may be it. Drag Car? Great car with great possibility's. I know I have missed a lot of info so if you have questions please ask before you bid so we are on the same page. Buyer is responsible for shipping of this vehicle. Here are the numbers:ST 74 1FS 87 N 190278 BDYTR 778 A51 74 74 PNT04B Z28 BLK 750588After talking with my son. he has told me he dissconeted the torque converter lock up because it locked up to soon with the tall gear and city driving. Should probably run a switch in the curcuit to control this. The rear shocks are shot and not conected. He drove the car like this because they were making unwanted noise. I drove the car 30 miles today (Sunday morning) with no issues.
