Up for auction is my 72 Chevy 1/2 ton long bed 4X4. It has a 350 V8 and a turbo 350 transmission. They both have 110. 00 miles on a rebuild. and run great. I have owned the truck for just a little over a year. and refurbished it to keep and drive. I have driven this truck all over the state of Wyoming. It took me 6 months just about everyday after work. and weekends to do the work that I have done to it. I'll start with the body and go from there. The guy I bought the truck from lived in Jackson Wy. and had some work done to it by a friend who owned a body shop. They installed new rocker panels and cab corners just about a year before I bought it. Also They cut out a portion of the floor pans and welded in 2 small sections on both sides of the cab. Then used matted fiberglass over the top to smooth the top of the floor over. It was not an absolutely perfect job. but worked effectively. on the floor. The cab corners and rockers turned out nice. There was virtually no other rust on the truck. He had the engine and tranny rebuilt while this was done. I bought the truck from him and took it from there. I fixed the small dings that I had found along the upper bed sides. and a couple on the doors and fenders. I then stripped the truck down inside and out. and repainted it the blue and white paint scheme it has. The truck was originally solid blue. I found a rusted out 71 Chevy pickup in Casper that had an almost perfect original side molding set. and installed that after I painted it. The paint job is no show quality. but it did turn out pretty damn decent. The grill shell has a couple of dings in it. and the upper bed sides are definately not lazer straight. but all in all the truck is a good looking pickup. The inside of the bed had some serious dings on the floor. and I did a wood over metal face lift on that. and that turned out nice as well. I had the seat redone at an upholstery shop in Gillette. and installed a new dash pad. because of course the original had cracks in it. The rubber floor mat is original. and so are the door panels. The brakes are at about 60% and the tires are at best 50%. so some money will need to be spent there in the near future. The speedometer quit working a couple of months ago. and I cant seem to turn the heat off any more. I think its the selector switch for the hot and cold. Please ask any questions you may have. and I will answer them as best I can. As stated before. this is no show quality pickup or a frame off restoration. simply because I built it to drive it. nbsp; Not for it to be a trailer queen. You can always find a few minor things wrong with a truck that is this old. but I would not hesitate to jump in this one and drive it accross the country.
