Car description

You already know how much we love vintage Chevy trucks here at Streetside, but this 1978 Chevrolet C10 Silverado stepside takes it to an entirely new level. Loud and attention-grabbing on the outside, it packs a stout big-block 454 V8 underneath, as well as a bespoke interior and a custom magazine-cover look that is simply awesome on the street. You could have a lot of fun in this truck, that's for sure!
Where have all the stepside trucks gone? When they look this good, you have to wonder why the OEMs stopped building them this way. This truck is officially a 1978, but the builders started by combining an 1981-1987 era cab and stacked headlights, along with the stepside bed out back, resulting in one of the best-looking trucks we've ever featured. The Plum Metallic paint job with Pearl Blue Ghost Flames will help you stand out at any show you attend, as it's been expertly draped over a very straight body augmented with a steel cowl hood, integrated louvers in the front fenders, and a ZR1-style roll pan replete with quad taillights out back. The fun didn't stop there though, as the mirrors were shaved, the stepside fenders were smoothed (the fuel tank filler necks were are also relocated inside the bed to join the tank), and a paint-matched Checkmate hard tonneau cover was installed to finish off the smooth look. Those fat rear fenders look like they were designed for 20-inch wheels so it looks so right, and the latch-less tailgate with blue 'Chevrolet' script furthers the custom look without giving up any functionality. The bed itself is also refinished, with spray-in bedliner and a thick rubber mat, so it'll last almost forever if properly cared for. The front bumper was painted to match the scheme as well, and the billet grille up front finished the look perfectly. My goodness, this is an impressive looking truck.
At first glance, the interior appears almost stock (to an '81-'87 Silverado, that is), which gives this C10 a very polished look that's also functional and comfortable. But look closer and you'll see a lot of custom work, including the beautifully upholstered two-tone seat, matching door panels, and the neatly tailored black carpets underfoot. White-face gauges inside the gold-tinted bezel look awesome and blend well with the upgraded upholstery, and the 3-spoke Grant GT steering wheel is a great aftermarket touch for the driver. Options like power windows and locks, cold R134a A/C and a tilt steering column make it easy to drive, and an AM/FM/CD player in the dash manages the tunes inside the cab. With a build of this quality, you know that almost everything inside is new and in great shape, making this a great place to hang out on weekends.
A swapped-in and built 454 cubic inch V8 motor means this sleek square-body truck is a fantastic runner and as reliable as the day it was built. Fortified with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, a polished Professional Products Aluminum dual-plane intake, a GM HEI ignition system, and a 'Street Cam' inside the block, it's punchy around town and gives the truck the moves of a muscle car rather than that of a commercial vehicle. The engine bay was finished to match the quality of the body, so it's bright and awesome, particularly with chrome valve covers, a chrome timing chain cover, and a chrome open-element air cleaner. Ceramic-coated long-tube headers and an H-pipe Flowmaster exhaust system with 2.5" turn-downs offer a suitable V8 rumble and the lowered stance is just about ideal: not too low, just a little rake, but definitely sleek. Thanks to the giant fenders, both front and rear, it has no problem accommodating those giant 20-inch chrome Ridler wheels and 255/45/20 front and 295/40/20 rear performance radials.
So don't take our word for it, check out how many of these trucks we've sold. This one not only has fantastic good looks but the performance to back it up, making it a great pick for trophy-winning fun. Call today!
