I purchasedthis 1986 Corvette from a friend about 6 years ago, after it was hit while he was on his way home from work. It was a great running car that was only used in good weather.1986 was the first year to reintroducethe convertible, so this hard to find car, with a manual transmission and a great color, was something I could not pass up. Since I bought it from him directly, and he didn'tend up going throughinsurance, the car still retainsa clear title. My intention was to get the parts, repair the damage, and have a bad littleVette to cruise with the top down. Unfortunately life gotin the way and I haven't tackled this one yet.Two years ago I lost covered storage, and it has been outside since. I've recently come to the conclusion that I still don't have the time to repair or restore this carandprobably won't in the near future. Before it spends the winter outside, I'd liketo find it a new home. The car has a 5.7 Tune Port Injected 350 V8. Ihaven'tstarted it inthelast two years, though it should run with a new battery and gas line. Needs rear suspension and right rear quarter (as shown in the photos.) It has a clean NJ title, but must be towed. It is a definitely a worthwhile project.(I also have a complete C4 coupe that I purchased as a donor to fix this one, which can be purchased separatelyif you are interested, but the auction is for this 1986 Corvette only.)
