Show quality body off the frame restoration. Striking colors and a 454, 4-speed in a 1970 Chevelle SS. Very desirable!
EXTERIOR: Gorgeous, repainted it's original code 25 Astro blue but I don't think it looked this good new. No ugly vinyl top. The entire car is glossy. They did a fantastic job making the body arrow straight and fitting right. All the body gaps are square and flush, even where the hood meets the headlight bezels. The metallic paint is laid out evenly. It has a nice deep clear coat finish that was polished out like glass. Stripes are painted correctly and are smooth to the touch. Looks like all of the trim has been replaced- the bumpers, grills, emblems, headlight bezels, hood pins, wheel well moldings, all the stainless around the windows and rain gutters, mirrors, door handles, the locks etc. Has all new tinted glass all the way around. New window seals and weather strips. Door jambs are detailed out. Has restored SS wheels with Goodyear Polyglas reproduction tires.
INTERIOR: Pearl white interior is gorgeous against the blue and it has been completely replaced. Seats have been reupholstered, new seat backs and chrome trim. (Driver seat has a snag). The door panels, armrests, window cranks and handles were replaced. On the floor it has new carpet, correct 4-speed console, GM seat belts front and back. Up above the headliner and visors have been replaced, dome light works. The dash pad is mint, instrument panel is in excellent shape. It does have the factory gauge package with tachometer and a factory Am-Fm radio. New sport wheel is on a tilt column. There is a modern stereo hidden in the glove box. Interior lights under the dash work, the kick panels and chrome vent knobs look new.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Correct 454-365 hp motor coded for a 4-speed. The compartment is restored and detailed beautifully. It has stock GM hoses, clamps, correct valve covers, air cleaner, spark plug wires etc. It is upgraded with an aluminum intake. Everything looks proper- the fan shroud, radiator cap, brake booster, wiring, washer bottle is all like it should be. Alternator is new. All the black metal is smooth and has a nice semi gloss finish. Bottom of hood has insulation. Hinges are restored. The jambs are painted beautifully.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the trunk is complete and tidy. Clean metal with a gray and aqua spatter finish paint, has a mat. The spare is a Polyglass tire, jack is complete. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb is painted glossy. Weatherstrip and decals are new.
UNDERSIDE: Wow, shiny like the top. Body was removed from the frame. The floors are so clean they were painted body color and cleared glossy. The chassis is detailed to factory new, has assembly line paint markings. Has F-41 suspension which includes sway bars and boxed control arms. Suspension was completely rebuilt- bushings, ball joints, shocks, springs etc. All new brake system, disc in front. New lines, hoses and e-brake assembly. Bottom of the motor is spotless, starter looks new. The Muncie 4-speed, linkage looks spotless. Has original 12 bolt 3.31 posi rear. All new fuel system- tank, sending unit, straps, lines. Nicely bent exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers and correct cowbell tips. Everything under this car looks new down to the nuts and bolts.
This extremely desirable car has undergone an extensive nut and bolt restoration. The colors really set it apart. It is a pleasure to just look at it but the real pleasure when everyone is looking at you driving it!
