Black on Black 1964 Impala SS Coupe 327 4BBL. with a PowerGlide. This car IS as good as it looks.78,000 mile Survivor received a complete “freshen up andface lift” about 3200 miles ago (5 years) which was done on a rotisserie, used only to achieve this level of work. The Black, base coat clear coat paint is like glass and reflects like a mirror. The exterior stainless trim and chrome is all beautiful. The tinted glass all around is clear with no damage. The underside of the car was stripped to bare metal and finished with a durable, high quality sealer. All suspension consumables, front and rear, were replaced, using modern, better than OEM, parts. Original front drum brakes wereconverted to power disc brakes. The motor, tranny and driveline were all gone through, keeping it stock. It’s 327 4 bbl. runs excellent. The 2 Speed Powerglide Automatics are just the best, enough said. Retains its original limited slip rear end with 3:36 gears. This car sounds awesome through the new, mandrill bent dual exhaust with the Flowmaster Mufflers. The exhaust is fit correctly, in proper hangers and all joints are welded. Factory power steering with the new disc brakes make this car a pleasure to drive. The Black SS interior is in excellent original condition. New carpet and headliner were installed, it is very comfortable. The Factory Tach works and lights as it should. ALL of the gauges, lights, courtesy lights, blinkers, wipers, heat and stereo work as they should with no issues. The wiring harness is nice and neat, not a rats nest under the dash. All new weather strips. The trunk is super clean and was finished with the splatter paint. The original jack and its components were sand blasted, primed and painted, they look new. Jack is not in my pictures but does come with the car. This Black Beauty now sits on 17” rims with Hankook Ventus HR II low profile radials, 235/45/R17’s on the front and 255/45/R17’s on the rear. This tire has a nice wide footprint, great handling and smooth riding, far cry from the old bias ply tires. I could go on all day about this car and all of its great features.This clean, original survivorgot the works just a few thousand miles ago. Downsizing and it’s time to pass her on.
