SOME HISTORY: This 1952 Chevy Deluxe originated in Quebec, Canada. We are the third owners. Both previous owners were elderly people that only used it occasionally. When we bought it in stock form in the late ‘90s, we immediately had plans to make it a Kustom.
The plan was to lengthen it, giving it fins, custom bumpers, as well as a chop, to lower it, etc…
BODY WORK:
-Chopped top, 4†in front, 7†in back, with rear window leaned down and uncut
-1 piece Oldsmobile windshield
- Hard chopped – removed vent windows and B pillars and made custom side glass and custom slide–in quarter glass with stainless trim
-Shaved, nosed, decked and modified window trim
-Peeked hood
-Pie cut trunk to follow rear window slant
-Frenched headlights, recessed in 6†deep polished stainless buckets
-Extended rear fins with custom lenses
-Custom Dagmar style front bumper ends, frenched into modified fenders
-Shortened and frenched rear bumper
-Custom rocker panels with frenched functional lake pipes with custom cutout caps
-Fender skirts
-Frenched and peaked antenna in quarter panel
-Custom recessed firewall
-Semi-gloss black (some photos are in primer…), with industrial/patina silver bumpers and grill
DRIVETRAIN:
-350 Chevy block from ’79 Camaro, recently decked and bored .030 over to 355
-305 performance heads, ported, bigger valves, 3 angle valve job, Comp springs
-High performance Comp Cam
-Edelbrock 650cfm carb
-Polished aluminum dual plane intake manifold
-High flow aluminum water pump
-New crankshaft
-New pistons
-Entire pro rebuild has less than 1000 miles on it
-700R4 transmission pro rebuilt with B&M Transpack and electric overdrive lockup, less than 1000 miles
-10 bolt ’78 Camaro posi rear end with new 3.73:1 gears professionally built, less than 1000 miles
-High flow aluminum radiator with custom aluminum shroud and 3 electric fans
-Stainless dual exhaust with custom cutouts on functional side lake pipes
FRAME:
-’78 Camaro front clip on customized and boxed ’40 Chevy rails
-Airbags on all for corners with manual valves, and tank with 2 compressors in trunk
-’78 Camaro power front disc brakes and rear drums
-Modified leaf spring rear suspension
INTERIOR:
-Red metalflake and charcoal grey tuck and roll upholstery on lowered stock seats
-Brushed steel door panels
-Custom industrial/aviator style console with gauges, shifter and hand brake
-Custom headliner with brushed steel slats/ribs
-Brake booster and master cylinder custom mounted horizontally behind dash
