Car description

Had a buyer not follow through, so here we go again. I can help you arrange shipping or meet with you a reasonable distance away with it if you are far. I am also quite close to the Detroit Airport and can pick you up with it if you were to fly in. Either way, I am flexible with all aspects of this sale including price and if you wanted to trade something of equal or less value. I can send you requested specific pictures or videos if what I have here is not enough.
On to the vehicle. This is a thoroughly clean Arizona vehicle that is currently in Detroit. Its a 2000 mile trip between those states and this vehicle has done it without issue, 7 times in fact. It is reliable, decent on gas (11-15) considering what it is, easy to work on, and in very good shape. Many old and wear items were replaced with a high quality parts when it was restored a few years back. It has been maintained properly and with care over the years. There is not much this vehicle needs or should need for quite sometime. Plus, all my extras are included.
This is the Silverado trim level with the "Trailering Special" package, so it has front and rear air conditioning, removeable third row bench seat, power windows and locks, updated 4/7 pin harness, class IV receiver, and rated for 11,000 G.C.W. It fits 9 people, has a 40 gallon fuel tank, full size spare with scissor jack, rear A.C. with a separate motor and condenser that blows on the back of your neck, adjustable front bench position, fold down second row, a vehicle alarm with 2-way receiver, and the roll down window tailgate.
It was set up for road trips and the occasional towing task as that's all I really used it for. These following upgrades represent that: C20 suspension with extra leafs added, front and rear sway bars, and Rancho 9000XL HD adjustable shocks. The brakes front and rear have been upgraded for towing applications. I added an onboard air compressor with 2.5 gallon tank for using air tools or airing up tires on the road. Its hooked up to semi-truck airhorns. It also has a 400watt 110volt power inverter located where the ashtray would normally reside. The external sun visor helps keep the sun out of your eyes on long drives. The 5-mirrored Wink mirror helps with seeing around the whole vehicle with just a glance. It has two extra fuse blocks for added accessories like a CB radio, PA Box, rear view camera, etc. It is still wired for those things but I pulled them out. It also had a Eaton Detroit Truetrac gear driven limited slip with the high end Richmond 3.42 gears. It would make a good overlanding vehicle too with some accessories if you are into that. The 700r4 Overdrive transmission has two external oil coolers and a 7qt Aluminum deep pan. The engine has an external oil cooler as well and a new Holley Truckavenger carb.
During its restoration a few years back, it got new carpet, rubber floor mats, a whole bunch of sound and heat insulation in the floor, roof, and doors, easy-clean custom seat covers for all 3 rows of seats, a custom headliner, custom storage box in the rear and side carpet to match the headliner, refreshed interior trim, window belt stripping, new dash pad with fabric cover, window motors and door lock actuators, stainless rain guards, smaller steering wheel, new set of seat belts, and a whole bunch of various other little things.
It has a lot of replaced wear and tear items and upgrades, but most of it is still stock. Its not a hot wash of parts, things were done in a tasteful manner and would be relatively easy to revert back to original if you wanted to. The biggest change was the paint job, which gathers a lot of attention. I wanted it to be more efficient at its towing and road trip duties, add in a little custom, but keep its original charm.
I know this vehicles history as of 1996 as that is when my father bought it. In regards to its rebuilt title, it was in fender bender in 1999 where it needs a new fender, hood, bumper, and grill. It didn't get used much for the next 10 years or so as my parents bought another vehicle. I acquired it in 2010. In recent years, there have been a few things that have started to deteriorate that I haven't felt the necessity to fix. This is common with any old vehicle. My price reflects these issues and the title identification. The issues are most of the factory gauges either dont work entirely or aren't very accurate, but there are aftermarket ones at the bottom of the dash. The tailgate window is slow and sometimes needs assistance, but works. The rear drivers and front passenger window dont work sometimes, might be a loose ground somewhere. The passenger rear window needs a new switch. The seat belts aren't bolted in, has two uncomplete sets. Figured you would want to go through all that. Passenger vent glass needs replaced. A.C. needs recharged. Does not have the original stereo.
To some everything up. This vehicle isn't perfect, it has some minor issues and the title isn't clean. Deal breaker for most I am aware. IF you can get past that, this is a great vehicle with long term proven reliability made better with some aftermarket care. It has a lot to offer whether you are looking for a cool family vehicle with enough space for 9 and their gear while towing your boat or camper or project car, road trip machine, overlanding outdoorsy vehicle, or just a daily, these Suburbans have a lot to offer. This generation is the largest Suburban Chevrolet made, they have a ton of space and functionality. Plus, there is a lot of parts available and are easy to diagnose. The value on this one has went up 3k in 18 months, so that's a good sign. Being an AZ vehicle, it has no rust anywhere. Plus, it has undercoating put on it just in case. All the bad from being in AZ like weatherstripping dry rotting and cracked dashes have all been replaced as well. This vehicle doesnt need much, its been taken care of, and should be around for quite a while. It will probably be difficult finding a better taken care of, clean example so if you are into these Suburbans, I have no doubts you will enjoy this.
