Car description |
---|
1976 Corvette Stingray for sale. This is a highly modified Corvette and fits more in the realm of hot rod. THIS IS A PROJECT CAR. The body and frame are both in good shape and the drivetrain is in very good condition. The car does need painted though as it is currently sprayed in Plasti-dip (I don't know why as it was like that when I bought it but it peels off easily). I do have one of the Stingray emblems and all the letters except one T for the Corvette emblem on rear bumper and they will be in the car. The interior is somewhat rough. The dash pad and door panels are cracked and could stand to be replaced. Also the ductwork is out of it (it will come with the car) and the heater core is bypassed to keep heat down inside car but could be easily reconnected. It does have brand new carpet and seat belt systems. It has an 80-82 style rear bumper. The pop up headlights do work. All of the modifications listed have less than 1500 miles on them. This car has not been raced or beat on. Just a project that got a little carried away. It's a total blast to drive and definitely gets alot of attention. On to the goodie list:
ENGINE:
-It is a 350 but not the original motor
-Dart Pro1 Platinum aluminum heads
-Dart Air Gap aluminum intake manifold
-Scat crankshaft
-Keith Black domed pistons
-H beam rods
-Brand new Crane hydraulic flat tappet cam and lifters (custom ground for this application)
-Brand new Holley 750 carburetor
-Comp steel roller rockers
-Mallory ignition
-True Hooker headers with side pipes (Comes with both the Hooker inserts and a pair of Sweet Thunder inserts. Currently wide open 4" side pipes)
-Aluminum radiator with electric fan
-Approximately 11/1 compression so does like high octane fuel
TRANSMISSION:
-TH350 rebuilt using a TCI race kit
-Hughes 2500 RPM stall
STEERING AND SUSPENSION:
-All new ball joints and tie rod ends
-Brand new Gymkhana springs front and rear
-Steering assist components (may need to be bled because of random squirreliness)
-Shocks
-Fresh four wheel alignment
-New tires all around
-Brake calipers, rotors and pads
As you can see, there has been a great deal of work and upgrades done to this car. With a little ambition it could be finished out to be an awesome ride or it can be driven just how it is. I would recommend having the hydaraulic cylinder for the steering system bled as I do think there is some air in it yet but components have no real miles on them. The windshield wiper switch also needs to be wired. That's why it is a project car or could be used at the track with a little fine tuning, maybe a transmission lock and lower rear end gearsdepending on how serious you are. If that's not your thing, its a real fun driver.
