Car description |

I'm putting up my 1948 Chevy 3600 pickup as I just have not made the time to drive it as much as I think I should the last couple of years. The body is in great shape for being 70+ years old. She runs well and doesn't need any help starting (unless you let her sit for a month or more), and drives as straight as a truck from that era can. No significant rust or damage to the body. This isn't to say it's a perfect truck as there are rust spots from nicks and what not. But, as for a driver or a start to a resto (or both!), I think you'll have a hard time finding a better one. After all, the paint is about 20 years old and there isn't anything bubbling up from underneath.
As for the history, I am the third family to own it. The guy I got it from shared it with his brother since the 70s, and they bought it off a woman when her husband passed.
While I have the original engine, currently a 235 is powering it. I'm told the original engine ran, but smoked. It turns, but I've never set it up to test fire to confirm that. Original engine WILL come with the truck.
Trasmission (3-on-the-tree) shifts smooth and got a new 10-3/4" clutch (correct for 3/4 tons) about 1k miles ago. The only negative thing is that there is a small exhaust leak. You can hear it, but it is not overbearing.
Because someone asked, the rear end ratio is 4.57:1.
I've also got the brushguard, but that could use some restoring and is not on truck (as you can see).
She is quite the survivor as she is still wired up as a 6V and has the vacuum wipers (don't work). The generator was also rebuilt about 1k miles ago.
I think those are the major items. If you have further questions, please ask. I work in a factory, so text/email is best. 419ThreeNineTwo49OneTwo
I am also selling this locally and reserve the right to end the posting early.
Buyer handles any shipping/pick-up requirements.
