1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is instantly desirable because of upgrade like its extra-large big block and the five-speed stick-shift. But dig deeper to see a ton more features and investment that make this very red Sting Ray an awesomely upgraded classic. The red on this car is an upgrade later in life. So while this is a legendary color for Corvettes, this one shines a bit brighter. And of course, there's all the brightwork: from the thin bumpers... to the cursive Corvette script on the rear, it's all complete and clean. And you even get an upgrade to polished 18-inch Boyd Coddington wheels. But arguably the best parts of the car are all the upgrades that tell you this is a performer, like the bold side pipes and the 1965-style side gills. Plus, the stinger hood is a great piece on this big-block car. Not only is it a nod to the extra performance (more on that in a moment,) but it also has the cool black streak that's a great match for the newer black folding roof. So this Sting Ray is striking even with the top up. While this looks great with the roof in place, a convertible loves to be open to the world. So the upgrade to a red leather interior was money well spent. It gives this car a fresh feeling and well-coordinated look. This has all the great vintage elements like the dual cowl dash and the grippy wood-rimmed steering wheel. Even the clock works! Plus, there are provisions that make it easy to have great upgrades like air conditioning and an AM/FM/cassette stereo system w/CD changer. But the upgrade you'll really love is the extra gear you see on the stick shift coming out of the center console. You're going to love showing off the engine bay. After all, there were big block Corvettes in this era, but none were as massive as this. An upgrade to a 502 cubic-inch V8 occurred in 2008. While the polished pieces will draw extra attention, what you'll love the best are the performance components. Not only do you have a huge displacement, but also there are go-fast goodies, like aluminum heads, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, and an aluminum intake. Plus, you have the right supporting pieces, like an MSD ignition and an aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans. The motor fires up easily, and the side pipes growl to let everyone know you've got serious power. The upgraded five-speed manual transmission gives you full control over the monster motor. But the full package is more than just brute force. A fully independent suspension, Bilstein shocks, four-wheel disc brakes, and performance tires all let you fully experience the power and control that reminds you why this is America's true sports car. This is the distinctive Sting Ray with a greatly enhanced heart. Don't let something this special slip away, call today!
