Car description |
---|
This vehicle was purchased new at Burt Greenwald Chevrolet in Akron, Ohio by my great uncle. He ordered the Wagon so that he could haul his Muskets to Gun Shows and Turkey Shoots all around Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and beyond. This vehicle was factory ordered with A/C delete and Radio delete. When he passed away, my Great Aunt learned to drive in this car at the age of 82. When she passed away she left it to her sister, who is also my Great Aunt, who then passed along this vehicle to my brother and I.
The heat and vent and fan blower all work great. But remember, this is A/C and radio delete which means there is no A/C and no radio built with the car at the factory, nor has one ever been installed. Because this vehicle lived in Ohio until 2015, it does have some rust holes on the rear rockers in front of the rear tires. The rest of the car seems solid underneath without being too affected by the snow and salt from up there. It was Ziebarted when new, so I am sure that helped protect much of the vehicle from rust. Since bringing it to Texas, it has been driven regularly, and it has an almost new set of high mileage Michelin tires from Discount Tire. I also purchased the Road Hazard Warranty for those, so you are protected if you ever get a flat.
Everything on the vehicle is still stock and has not been modified except the windows were tinted to help it survive the Texas Sun. A true original and unmolested example of a very rare wagon with very rare options. There are no tears in the seats and no cracks in the dash. This Cavalier wagon would be a great candidate for light body restoration. The buyer of this car will also receive our file folder of life long service records, mostly from the Dealer, including the original window sticker & owner's manual.
The paint and interior are in original clean condition, and the blue paint and interior are the original factory colors. I do believe there has been one body repair performed at the front of the vehicle when I closely compare the paint colors.
Cons:
Windshield wipers can be tricky to operate (have to have key in exact spot in ignition)
Occasionally needs to be topped off with coolant. No coolant in the oil, but it does evaporate slowly.
Pros:
New headliner
Recent brakes and rotors/drums all the way around. It stops with no pull.
New battery and alternator and alignment.
Recent spark plugs/wires/fuel filter.
Great gas mileage at nearly 30 mpg on the highway
Does not smoke on start up or burn oil between oil changes.
Does not leak any fluids.
This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime.
