Car description |
---|
396 ENGINE: factory Chevelle block and heads. Fully machined and rebuilt, with 20,000 miles on it since. Edelbrock intake, Holley carburetor, stainless headers, HEI ignition.
12 BOLT POSI REAR DIFFERENTIAL: GM housing, GM posi carrier, and very rare GM 3.31 ring and pinion. Powdercoated black to look great forever. Fully rebuilt and blueprinted, axles were replaced with new stronger units. 20,000 miles on it since.
TH400 TRANSMISSION: The correct 3 speed automatic transmission that Chevrolet put in SS Chevelles. Fully rebuilt, 20,000 miles on it since.
Everything in the driveline has had its fluids regularly checked and changed as necessary, all maintained to still perform as new. The wipers, heater, blower motor, all signals and lighting, the dome light, it all works.
I've owned this car for 20 years. This is a rust free car. It's restoration was completed back in 2004 and only kept in a garage since in between cruise nights. I've taken this car on 300 mile beach road trips, never having a problem. I've put about 20,000 miles on it and never had any issues. This car has been in the rain maybe 3 times in 20 years, it is well maintained, and ready for its next owner.
Floors and trunk all solid, no rust. The floors mostly still have '68 factory sprayed undercoating which can be seen in the pictures. The frame has zero rust. The original vinyl top was removed, roof brought down to bare metal, and 2k urethane coated to prevent any rust starting up underneath the new replacement top. There is no reason to worry about future rust starting up under this car's roof. The doors, trunk, and hood all open and close smoothly with great alignment.
Power steering and power disc brakes. Interior is black with buckets and console. I believe the rear seat is the factory vinyl and the rear door panels are the untouched factory door panels to the car. Custom dash cluster and gauges that all work. All the trim is original 1968 factory installed trim except the back corners of the vinyl top and the quarter window trim. Wheels are 15x10 in rear and 15x6 in front. Car is lowered 2".
Other than the aftermarket gauges, the wiring is factory original with no modifications, splices, scotch locks, none of that funny stuff on something as important as wiring. There car has an amplifier with 3.5mm AUX wire input (and AUX wire routed up to the driver console area) to play music direct off your phone or other device.
Engine is a Chevelle L35 396 with comp 268XE cam. Has stainless headers into 2.5" exhaust with mandrel tailpipes and moroso spiral mufflers.
Originally a v8 car from the factory, but not a SS 138 car.
I have embedded below 2 videos of the car both idling and a ride along. If you have any trouble viewing the videos just send a message and I'll share a direct link.
A small simple $50 immediate paypal is required to any buyer using buy it now just to prevent any scam purchases. Any questions, just ask. I will cooperate with any shipping service within USA as well as international if buying long distance. Inspections of the car on my land are welcome.
