This Corvette was purchased from the original owner summer/fall of 1969 (Protect-O-Plate in second owner's name). At the time of purchase the original engine had already been replaced. The new owner in her youthful enthusiasm of 21 years of age who had active in competitive equestrian events began a rather spirited driving career that apparently involved some club events.Some issues arose at the end of 1969 requiring the installation of another new L88 short block. The documents at hand show there was a litigation between the second owner, the original owner and the Chevrolet dealership having something to do with an incorrect camshaft installation and there was an out of court settlement resulting in the Chevrolet dealership installing a new replacement L88 short block. Her personal modifications were to have installed an American made set of wire wheels with knock-off hubs and spindle conversion, steel tube headers and side exhaust, Mallory dual point distributor and spark coil, roll bar and AM/FM cassette player. Other work orders show that the disc brakes were rebuilt and updated with stainless steel sleeves. As time went on, the young lady collected many plaques of autocross and club track events and her interests waned. By the mid/late 1980s she had parked her Corvette in the garage where it sat on wood blocks for nearly 36 years. The Corvette comes with a 2+ inch file of documents, work orders and receipts, auto club meet plaques, a warranty pamphlet with the stamped metal plate in her name, factory shop manual and many boxes of spares including:original 427 hood in perfect shape in original matching color, original tri power intake with carbs and filter housing, side molding/rocker panel trim (removed for the side exhausts) original air pump and lines ( aka: "smog pump"), original radio, original antenna mast, spare tinted windshield, original red sidewall spare tire, 3 American racing mag wheels with tires, "Stingray" and "427" emblems, front lower under bumper spoiler/deflector. Using a "bore scope" video camera it appears that the build sheet is still attached to the top of the fuel tank. I have yet to lower the fuel tank to photograph the information. From the initial survey the only options that can be confirmed are the original hard top in black vinyl covering, tilt wheel and 427/435HP "tri-power". Further notes: spark plugs were removed and combustion chambers were oiled and soaked before turning crankshaft.new spark plugs installed and oil changed, OEM original printing oil filter installed. New mechanical fuel pump installed- OEM fuel pump has been saved for future rebuilding. OEM master cylinder has been rebuild. Brake flex hoses replaced.Upon inspection underneath engine has a Milodon racing oil pan and racing approved special bell housing installed.
