Car description

Dressed in an iconic color combination and running with confidence inspiring steadiness, this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS is one very appealing classic muscle car. It will pull into its next lucky owner's garage with a nice array of documentation on board, including its original dealer invoice, owners manual and warranty. It's as road ready as can be and features some nice mechanical upgrades to elevate both its performance and under the hood appeal. The teal color... draped over this coveted muscle car combines with its stock height and classic wheel combo to create a thoroughly authentic appearance - the shade was a selection on the Chevrolet color chart the year this Chevy came out and really looks nice in this setting, with a broad black stripe encircling the front end in proper Super Sport fashion. The contrasting black vinyl top is in good shape - it shows no discoloration from UV exposure and there's no bubbling in sight. The collection of chrome presents very nicely - both the front and rear bumpers were either re-chromed or replaced entirely in the recent past and the brightwork, including those signature accents on the hood, may well be original but are in surprisingly good shape. With the clean black grille up front and blackened taillight area just under the factory-issued spoiler on the rear deck lid in back - both wearing badging calling out this Camaro's special lineage - the overall appearance here is as genuine as it gets. Much in keeping with the theme on display outside, the black vinyl interior remains almost entirely in its original configuration. These surroundings are pretty strong in their present state and some well focused attention on a few minor issues and maybe an adjustment here and there will transform this interior into a thoroughly compelling vintage driving environment. The front buckets are still well padded and bracket a center console that's looking very clean, there's fresh carpet lining the floor and the door panels are nice and flush to their surrounding steel. Additional authenticity is also on board via the original steering wheel still on the column and the AM radio at the center of the dash, as well as the clear, functional factory gauges in the instrument cluster. A trio of Sunpro displays are positioned at the front of the center console to keep better tabs on engine functions and the pad running the width of the cabin is free of any cracking. Beneath the hood is a nicely detailed engine compartment, at the center of which sits a 350 cubic inch V8, that's well-dressed in a pair of chrome valve covers and matching air cleaner sitting over a Carter AFB Comp Series 4-barrel carb. Still wearing its original heads, the engine has been armed with an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and exhales into a pair of aftermarket headers as it teams with a smooth 3-speed automatic transmission navigated by the B&M shifter on the transmission tunnel. An upgraded HEI ignition heats up the spark and a recently added alternator helps increase dependability. Power steering makes this eye-catching classic easy to maneuver as it cruises on a set of ultra-clean 15" Camaro wheels with branded spinner-style centers that are wrapped with Cooper Cobra tires, including a pair of sizable 275s in back for vise-like asphalt gripping ability. If you put a high premium on both vintage authenticity and a rock solid driving experience, this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS is a must-see. Call today!
